Early line for the Illinois game is out

Bielema is a good defensive coach. One of these B1G games I suspect our opponent will throw a defense at us that will try to bait our freshman QB into making ill-advised throws. I don't know if the Illini have the D to pull that off or not.

Illinois is looking to be another exciting night game, that's for sure.

Not worried about the points or the score for that manner, it’s surviving this particular game healthy! It’s going to be 4 quarters of curb stomping stash mouth nastiness..

I'm anxious to see Nebraska play against a team that values being tough up front and that tries to match our physical nature. In that vein, Northern Iowa should be a little bit of a good tuneup in advance of Illinois. The CU game was fun, but they really don't represent much of anything comparable to the rest of our schedule. Especially for the next month.

All I know is the right guard at Colorado (67) is as big as or bigger than anything UNI is going to strut out there... and yes I heard they have two 329 pound dudes

Haarberg easily covered that at their place last year

seems too low

ILL stinks
I thought Saturday Dylan played a good game, but not his best. It really was a big pressure situation with a lot of lights and I think he handled it well. Should make a step forward again and I expect him to be really sharp against Illinois.

He may be the type of player who is just gonna keep getting better and better. Last week our WR's and TE's didn't do a great job of getting separation. They've been called out now for their effort and blocking, lets see if it takes hold Saturday night.

Looks like Rhule isn't gonna stand for that crap anymore.
Any team we play that has offensive tackle(s) with slow feet are gonna get their asses handed to them by our rush ends, cause those kids are really quick off the ball.

ILL can't score

they suck. their quarterback is atrocious.

if we score 20 points we will cover easily, just like last year.

Colorado tried that . Travis Hunter said they tried to bait DR into thinking he had someone down field. But he kept taking the underneath stuff . Hunter was very complimentary towards DR. Pretty high praise from an upperclassman AA type defensive player talking about a True freshman making his 2 start.

Thats a big number for a team that knocked off ranked KS
That's a tough call. KState led every category except turnovers. 100+ more (rushing) yards but -3 on T/O's as we know very well, will lose you a lot of games. I don't see us throwing 3 interceptions. Maybe a fumble but I see a 3/1 husker takeaway margin.

As bad as we made CU look, they are still a very potent offense. Maybe not built for the B1G, but they still have playmakers and we wont see many offenses that explosive this year outside OSU and USC. The outcome from last weeks game would have happened last year at CU if we had a competent offense. Not great, just competent. Which I believe we now have. So, teams like ILL, Indiana, Rutgers, Purdue, Wisconsin, Iowa, are all dealing with the same defense from last year, but now, we have an offense to 1-not give the ball away, and 2-actually have a threat of scoring at a decent clip. We win 11 games and a bowl game last year with this offense. This year? No reason we cant win 10 as long as we continue to play complimentary ball, and no one too important goes down.

I’m curious how Illinois plays today and see if they can score in the 30’s..
Florida Int scored 52 last week on Central Michigan..

Illini isn’t too bad of a passing team and they have some athletic WR but their offense doesn’t scream offense juggernaut..

It should be around -14 by kickoff.

Illinois is average at best. Solid defense, bad offense.

FIU beat CMU 52-16…..Illinois couldn’t manage more than 13 pts in a half

Btw that FIU team could only score 7 total against Indiana….
