This year and last years bowl game have nothing to do with the argument they should have been in the playoff. An undefeated P5 champion should have never been left out based on principle. The only reason they didn’t make it is that it would have shut the sec out of the playofff. Change bama to Michigan in the same scenario, and they leave the big 10 out no questions asked. It was bs. And it had nothing to do with how good they were or were not.

Wasn’t back to back but didn’t the UCF coach before frost go 12-0 to 0-12 with a season in between? Maybe I’m way off but thought I remember reading that years ago
