Well that certainly is exciting. Ratchets up my enthusiasm for this game a couple notches.
All true … but if Dana is calling plays it makes me wonder why they aren’t at least cutting bait with Satt?how emasculated can one man get?
good grief, Rhule. this is approaching Salem-levels of cruelty.
I thought they were friends.
also - what was the point of hiring a 2nd OC this off-season only to pass him over for a guy who hasn't been part of the program for more than 5 minutes?
I have more questions than answers. as usual with this regime.
better late than never, I guessAll true … but if Dana is calling plays it makes me wonder why they aren’t at least cutting bait with Satt?
Very odd in my opinion but I like the move regardless. Would rather have us go all in the last 3 weeks than let Satt do his thing. It can’t get any worse and if it does it wouldn’t have changed the outcome of the season one iota. Only upside from W’s and L’s IMO.
Has anyone ever seen a situation like this ever?
Truth be known I believe GT called the UCLA game.how emasculated can one man get?

Pretty sure it was a Satt/Rhule collaboration given the amount of time it took to get calls in. Who knows GT could have been apart of it too.Truth be known I believe GT called the UCLA game.
I can't recall a program playing 9 games and then bringing in a new OC/play caller off the street with zero history working with the head coach or involvement in the program for the stretch run.All true … but if Dana is calling plays it makes me wonder why they aren’t at least cutting bait with Satt?

Reading between the lines he kind of made it sound like we are on the cutting edge by doing this. We're back!I can't recall a program playing 9 games and then bringing in a new OC/play caller off the street with zero history working with the head coach or involvement in the program for the stretch run.
a potentially unprecedented move.
I am starting think that Dana is going to have sex with Satts wife, in front of him, and Satt will be like "Yeah, I mean, I guess it is okay, anyway I am really excited about coaching TE's"how emasculated can one man get?

The point is, if you name him Co-OC, you can pay him a lot more than for a QB coach.how emasculated can one man get?

Can it be any worse?I hope it works
Any other time and you let him go. But with the new rules, you don't have the limited coaching staff. And Sat's paid through the end of next season anyway. So if he can be helpful and not be a disruption, why not.All true … but if Dana is calling plays it makes me wonder why they aren’t at least cutting bait with Satt?

poor guy's wife is already 2,000 miles away.I am starting think that Dana is going to have sex with Satts wife, in front of him, and Satt will be like "Yeah, I mean, I guess it is okay, anyway I am really excited about coaching TE's"
I think it was fair to give Satt a 2nd season given the injuries and turnover situation last year.I mean
Rhule spent all offseason laughing at the notion his hand-picked OC was atrocious.
he's spent his entire tenure talking about changing the culture, being physical, etc.
now - Year 2, after 9 games - we are not only seeking outside counsel but we are attempting essentially the "Face Off" surgery with our offense.
everything about this screams "PANIC!" in North Stadium.
even if this works and we go 3-0 while averaging 50 ppg, what the actual f*ck is our Head Elf doing?
this will be a common theme among the apologistsWhile this is outrageous I like that he’s doing everything he can to make a major adjustment to change the outcome.
best thing this move does is rightly place the bullseye where it's always belonged - on Rhule's bestubbled headAs a fan base we can’t complain the last 3 weeks about Satt sucking and needing to be fired and now complain that he is?
what the actual f*ck is our Head Elf doing?
It probably means Rhule is giving Satt a chance to find a new job when the head coach churning moves into full gear. All true … but if Dana is calling plays it makes me wonder why they aren’t at least cutting bait with Satt?

It's a big boy move, for sure. The rest of the season will determine if it was dumb or not.I can't recall a program playing 9 games and then bringing in a new OC/play caller off the street with zero history working with the head coach or involvement in the program for the stretch run.
a potentially unprecedented move.
He ain’t putting a new offense in .
Lincoln Riley’s assistants finding West Virginia and Houston game film.
What’s the angle from the anti-Rhule coalition? Ability to sit back and yell when he does nothing and also an ability to sit back and yell when he does something?this will be a common theme among the apologists
best thing this move does is rightly place the bullseye where it's always belonged - on Rhule's bestubbled head
I didn't see a way NU wins with Satt, could be a dumpster but I think the players will embrace a fresh start with a new oc. And noone should feel bad for satt, he's getting paid and didn't deliver. It's a big boy move, for sure. The rest of the season will determine if it was dumb or not.
it's not a "big boy move"It's a big boy move, for sure. The rest of the season will determine if it was dumb or not.
How can it be dumb? It's a big boy move, for sure. The rest of the season will determine if it was dumb or not.
Obviously - it was a joke. But they will have to prepare for different tendencies. He ain’t putting a new offense in .
I just laugh now. What’s the angle from the anti-Rhule coalition? Ability to sit back and yell when he does nothing and also an ability to sit back and yell when he does something?
40? How about 30.Too bad this wasn't a home game. I can just feel the energy that people would have walking to the stadium thinking we'll put up 40.
Isn’t this what was also said to have happened to Satt in his last season with South Carolina? I believe the rumor was Beamer had taken over playcalling and they in turn looked like world beaters the last few weeks. All true … but if Dana is calling plays it makes me wonder why they aren’t at least cutting bait with Satt?
Very odd in my opinion but I like the move regardless. Would rather have us go all in the last 3 weeks than let Satt do his thing. It can’t get any worse and if it does it wouldn’t have changed the outcome of the season one iota. Only upside from W’s and L’s IMO.

How is this not accepting responsibility - he’s publicly stating his guy was not the right guy to get stuff done?it's not a "big boy move"
it's a last-ditch, back against the wall, anything but accept responsibility, grasping at straws panic move.
there is no strategy here.
big boys play chess. Rhule drools all over himself trying to set up the checker board.
It's a given the offensive staff was gone regardless. If this move fails miserably and leads to program chaos post-season (excessive key transfers, etc.), it will be seen as dumb and unnecessary to do this at this point in the season. How can it be dumb?
You know how optimistic we get. We would for sure think 40. And some fan walking in the group would have looked up his stats against Lincoln Riley or something and everyone would be like, f yeah. We're putting up 40.40? How about 30.
