The reactions to this news is so telling, generationally. The boomers on here seem to want to go back to the Big 12, which in my opinion has a better quality of football and cultural fit for NU, but was a conference that absolutely hated Nebraska and treated the school like shit at nearly every opportunity. Take off the nostalgia glasses for a second and remember all those 11-1 votes. NU was always that "1" vote. I hated the Big 12.
Meanwhile, on Reddit and everywhere else where young Husker fans post, the idea of NU ever going back to the Big 12 is met with
variations of the phrase "FVCK NO".
As one Husker fan put it over there, "Nebraska and every other B1G team will get $80-100M annually from the newest media contract. Never going back lol"
That pretty much sums it up.
Just win. That's all NU needs to do. Win. And I suspect attitudes will start changing.
