CU to the big12

I don't see anyone talking about the quality of Big 10 teams. What I do see is a bunch of people with revisionist history. Talking about how poorly we are treated in the Big 10 while ignoring how we were treated in the Big 12. Bringing up how many close road games the Big 12 has when in reality the Big 12 is just as spread out as the Big 10 and the 2 Kansas schools are the only difference. Acting like all these Big 12 schools love us when in fact they hate us and we're perfectly fine with us leaving.

The Big 10 took us at a time when we were in a precarious position and they didn't have to. It showed me they wanted us much more then the Big 12. Lots of schools wanted in the Big 10 then and now. They basically took us first. That is more loyalty then the Big 12 has ever shown.
Honest question, not trying to be argumentative. What other schools wanted in the Big 10? Several Big 12 schools were flirting with the Pac 12. Missouri botched their pitch to the Big 10 and Notre Dame wasn't coming. Who were we picked over? ACC schools?

2 of those teams have been in the CFP the last 2 years. Let that sink in.

It's not just the bottom feeders. Get past Ohio State and Michigan, and the rest of the teams are pretty much a wash top to bottom. If anything, the Big 12 has an edge when you get past the blue bloods just for what I posted above.
If PSU was in the acc or big 12 they'd have at least 1 playoff appearance. They've had some very good teams with Franklin as coach.

Revisionist history guy using revisionist history in an attempt to prove I’m not sure what point

Very funny

Conferences are already dead. People are arguing about where the chairs should go on the poop deck of the titanic

Pretty sure KU and Mizzou wanted in real bad. And it was a pipe dream but KSU and ISU. I'm probably wrong but I thought Pitt and Syracuse wanted in too. Maryland and Rutgers.

reality - no conference in human history has seen as much simultaneous losing and sexual abuse of its students & athletes as the B1G

reality - long-term, it does not matter which conference we're in because CFB will one day unify under a commissioner/governing body, rendering these groups useless. this has clearly and obviously been set in motion.

I seem to be one of the few who actually deals with reality on its own terms, as opposed to attempting to write it myself like you and so many who invent fiction in an attempt to prove their "point"

I rode my bike between Albuquerque and Liberal Kansas that afternoon/evening and listened to the game on my headset over the Huskers.com network. That loss was depressing. If your people could give a shit about the game, then they aren't really Nebraska fans.
They cared if we won or loss, but remember - we played Minnesota a grand total of four times between 1975 and 2010 - for people who grew up in the Big 8, playing Minnesota (like a lot of Big 10 teams) is basically like playing a dull non-conference opponent - you want Nebraska to win, but that's it.

If it doesn't matter, why are you posting multiple times a day about the conference we are in? It does indeed seem to matter short and long-term to you.

You deal in reality? Since when? You seem to be the main person on this board who can't accept we are full-fledged members of the Big 10 and that isn't changing anytime soon. You seem to think your opinion matters on all this. Everyone else is just having a bullshitting session with random anonymous people on the internet.

I post about the crimes against humanity our conference mates continuously commit.

I post about all the hilarious losing.

these topics deserve to be talked about in perpetuity.

I do not post about changing conferences. this is a narrative you have invented and now believe to be true. you will be able to produce zero proof in the form of a quote from me on this topic, because it does not exist.

believing the voices in your head as opposed to what you read is something crazy people do. surely you're not crazy?

here is what I've said from the beginning - we are not a B1G program. we play a B1G schedule in exchange for money.

Not a Big 10 program. How long were we in the Big 12? You are straight up nuts. We are a Big 10 school and that isn't changing anytime soon. Deal with it.

we have nothing in common with our beloved B1G brethren

we are a program unto ourselves, playing a conference schedule in exchange for money. college football is a business, after all.

remind us - what year did you graduate from UNL?

During the Callahan years unfortunately. How about you? Where are you going with this?

What did we have in common with the smelly hippies in Boulder? How about the rich, fake cowboys in Austin? Baylor, did we have a lot in common with them? Mizzou? Went to a game there as a kid and I sure never felt like it was similar to home. They were nasty and didn't seem like Nebraska country folk while constantly yelling expletives during and after the game at my family. Like I said, I question the experiences and perspectives that people have regarding the Big 12 and Big 10. Now your turn to Google something so you have a comeback.

you are obsessed with the Big 12. it's all you talk about.

that we have little in common with both them and the B1G proves my point - we are a program unto ourselves.

Bo sent me out with his Gator Bowl victory over Clemson.

we play a B1G schedule and cash B1G checks. that's as far as it goes.

you and many others seem to want us to become uber-woke student diddlers (a B1G school). we are much, much better than that.

Wrong. Some people like me just watch NU play football and don't feel the need to associate everything else with our football team. I have the ability to separate football from the rest of the world. It appears you don't.

You seem to be like so many people these days. Probably have very little real life experience with Husker football but you sure can Google like a mf'er.

I attended every home game between 1996-2009. ate at the training table. covered recruiting for the DN. was on the sideline for Black 41 Flash Reverse. shook TO's hand at least a dozen times.

congratulations on your ability to ignore/minimize/compartmentalize thousands of students being sexually assaulted at the hands of our conference mates. your family must be so proud.

One solution to this - LEAVE. Oh wait, what conference would want NU and its whopping 1.9 million state population. Ha Ha Ha Ha. You're getting your a$$es handed to you on the football field and just can't accept it
what brings you to our board, Big Ten Friend?

Another one that protects the big brand and all the sick twisted scandals involved. You are one of the many morally twisted BIG Nut jobs.

Sure dude. Me too. TO always made sure to bring me to Vals after each title.

Seems weird that you can't separate football from the rest of what's happening in the world. I'm not ignoring or minimizing anything. Football is football. My family knows where I stand on sexual assault and I know where they stand. Don't need pretend hatred to try to make myself look like some kind of hero.

You bring this stuff up so much that I think you are a fake.
I discuss B1G losses and crimes against humanity as they happen

which, I agree, is quite a lot

you seem to enjoy the daily floggings you receive here. keep up the great work

you sing this same tune often

identical talking points and everything

yet to see a single person agree

Houston kicks the B1G's ass in hoops. 2nd place big 12 team stomped the B1G champ in the national semis

you'r swimming upstream with nothing but rapists, losers and disgusting sexual deviants at your side
Michigan hardly got stomped by TCU. TCU was lucky to win that game. 9 times out of 10, Michigan stomps TCU much like Georgia did. No way in hell that Michigan would get embarrassed like that if they made it to the finals. They would probably lose, but they would give Georgia all they could handle. Michigan is every bit as physical up front as Georgia.

how quickly you forget the stomping mich received at the hands of UGA 2 semifinals ago.

"every bit as physical up front" - this is a joke, right?

TCU was not lucky to win last year. they dominated from start to finish.

another B1G moral victory.

However, you also fail to recognize that Georgia only beat Ohio State by 1 point and Ohio State led Georgia most of the game. Michigan beat Ohio State with ease. See, transitive property works both ways.

the moral victory transitive property. LOL

only in the delusional B1G do close losses weigh more than actual wins

I was just about to post this thought. Despite getting blown out by Michigan, OSU matched up better with Geogria than Michigan would have.
Georgia would probably beat Michigan. However, it's highly unlikely that Georgia would embarrass them. Just because Georgia embarrassed Michigan last year doesn't mean that they would have this year. Last year doesn't mean jack, that's why the game is played every year.

Actually, you hit the nail on the head with matchups. OSU just didn't matchup with Michigan last year. On the other hand, OSU came within a last second missed field goal of beating Georgia lost (42-41) and probably going on to win the NC against TCU who beat Michigan. Go figure. That's why it's so hard to bet on CF

The reactions to this news is so telling, generationally. The boomers on here seem to want to go back to the Big 12, which in my opinion has a better quality of football and cultural fit for NU, but was a conference that absolutely hated Nebraska and treated the school like shit at nearly every opportunity. Take off the nostalgia glasses for a second and remember all those 11-1 votes. NU was always that "1" vote. I hated the Big 12.

Meanwhile, on Reddit and everywhere else where young Husker fans post, the idea of NU ever going back to the Big 12 is met with variations of the phrase "FVCK NO".

As one Husker fan put it over there, "Nebraska and every other B1G team will get $80-100M annually from the newest media contract. Never going back lol"

That pretty much sums it up.

Just win. That's all NU needs to do. Win. And I suspect attitudes will start changing.
