Trump's approval has started to go down again the last few days. He just can't stay disciplined and stop attacking the media and certain governors.

All he should do at his daily briefings is state the important things the government is doing, and then turn it over to his task force (Pence and the doctors) for questions. And to be fair, the media should send their medical journalists to ask questions instead of their political correspondents. Both sides are trying to be too political at a time when we don't need partisan political bickering.

My two cents on the briefs. Trump has a relatively narrow element that he's comfortable in. What do they say in baseball a two tool player or something like that?

He's got zero empathy/papa bear in him. He has all the presentation ability of a robot on this issue. You can tell his handlers have made it as concise as they can because the longer he is on that podium the longer he is going to have to try and avoid lashing back at political gotchas. His tool is getting in people's faces and yelling you're fired so I know it's hard for him not to drift into that comfort zone.

Pence for whatever you think of him as a politician I think carries himself very well on the podium.

I like Fauci alot. Brix or whatever her name is is pretty good. She seems to me like she's more afraid to cross Trump than Fauci is so I think she was tapped to carry the administration water in the medical side of the house.

She dodged a question the other day about how Rand Paul would never have been discovered using the administration guidelines and it took him bucking the system to save lives potentially within our senior leadership. She relies too much on white house handbook that basically says wash your hands and if you get real bad call the hospital

I swear some would rather watch the country fail under Trump than admit this isn’t working and won’t work and those of us that voted for him were wrong.
I swear some would rather watch the country fail under Trump if it meant that he wouldn't get re-elected. Those of us who didn't vote for him were wrong.

Be very wary of trusting a scientist with a political agenda. Dr. Didier Raoult, the senior investigator of the linked study, has a controversial history (denying evolution and climate change) that makes puts him odds with the vast majority of respected scientists and the generally accepted scientific consensus on these issues.

Stephen McIntyre, from whom the tweet was sent, is also a lightning rod of controversy himself in pushing his own climate change denial political agenda.

I really do hope that a hydroxychloroquine-azithromycin combination therapy pans out, but everyone should be very skeptical that the people who are touting it have their own political agendas. They are taking advantage of the Covid19 situation to gain people's trust in order to spread other misinformation. Never trust any scientist with a political agenda.

No, I know what he said, by his intentions, within its context.
Is he clumsy? Yes, his own worst enemy at times? Yes. Has he made mistakes? Yes
Can he be an a$$?yes.
But in each instance, with the exact opposite of media approaches, they could be covered up, like why is a fbi director deciding what a states attorney will decide is a case or not a case? Or, it was a movie, there were no terrorists.
But he gets full tilt lies the opposite way, as outlandish as three years of the russians and he are colluding.
So you are going to ignore what he says and come up with, on your own, what you believe his intentions were? So it doesn’t not matter what he says and does? You can find a way to spin it

So you are saying you would rather the country fails under Trump, than have someone else in office? Yikes.

Now you can do as many contortions as you want, I don't really care, honestly. What I am saying is that it is true that he said the above about the large group of white-supremacists, neo-Nazi's, and Klan members who showed up to that protest.
When Trump said "very fine people", he wasnt talking about the white-supremists, neo-Nazi's or Klan members.

Hillary was the other option. Yikes
I know and it's not going to be a fun choice this time either. But just take the other crappy options out of the equation. Saying you would rather see the whole thing burn, the whole country fail, than your guy not be in office? That some is crazy cult-like stuff.

It's obvious I had a typo & that's not what I meant.

I even responded to you with the correction & you're acting like I meant what you just said.

EDIT: I just now saw your like. All good.

it'll be business as usual regardless, just like always. the two parties are the same. the gov't never gets smaller, never slows spending, never cares one iota for the little guy.

anyone expecting anything different will be sorely mistaken.

Quit saying your guy and link us all to this cult crap your saying. Out of the candidates on the ballot I will never regret voting for who i did. You keep throwing out how many times Trump has lied and Clinton was the other one on the ballet. That is classic.

And the cult crap is BS. You can say that about any president that was voted in. For better or worse his is the POTUS so any of the arguing is a moot point. Given the selection to vote for. The right person is in office in my oppionion. I really don't care who agrees or not.

The sad thing is the Dems has thrown another clown show out for candidate's again this go around. They are a complete mess and a joke.

Read the article on zero hedge about what's going on in france with this guy and the drug. Sounds nuts.

And who is saying this? There isn’t enough time in the day to address this, but here’s an unintentionally loaded question to you. Until this Virus came about, wasn’t the country doing well? Economy (for all) was good, low unemployment for all races, stock market great, no significant foreign policy problems, giving China the middle finger on trade (and being stronger for it), etc. This virus was coming to our shores under any circumstance, period. That’s not a get out of jail free card, but it was going to happen. Trump can say stuff that those who hate him can jump on, but is he really totally unqualified to be president? Things have gone fairly well. Democrats spent most of the time trying to get him out, and things have still gone well. He is not a likeable guy, but I don’t want the president to be my friend, I want them to get shit done and take care of business for this country

Well +1 for him since climate change is a hoax as well.

This guy aside, the study and the way it was published is suspect at best:

Many scientists have criticized the French trial as riddled with enough methodological flaws to render its findings unreliable or misleading. Biostatisticians from the United Kingdom and Ireland cited a basic failure: Investigators didn’t randomize the groups—essential to ensuring dependable comparisons. They also noted that six of the treated patients were lost to the study, five of whom fared badly—one died, three entered intensive care, and one stopped treatment because of nausea. Yet they were dropped from the analysis, potentially skewing the outcome.

Elisabeth Bik, a scientific integrity consultant, wrote on her blog that for some patients supposedly helped by the treatments, daily tests for the presence of the coronavirus fluctuated between positive and negative, suggesting the virus might have persisted, just below the test’s detection threshold. Investigators should have confirmed viral clearance over two or three consecutive days, she said, particularly because the trial did not keep track of clinical indicators such as fever or shortness of breath. But the viral tests also ended after no more than 6 days total for all patients.

Bik and other researchers have raised questions about other aspects of the paper, including its peer review, noting the submission and acceptance dates suggest it was reviewed in less than 24 hours. One of the paper’s authors is also the journal’s editor-in-chief, which Bik says might be “perceived as a huge conflict of interest.”

I voted for him too, as I dispised Hillary and the Democratic political machine. At the time, I wanted to take a chance on new thoughts. But it has become apparent, I was completely wrong, not that it really matters living in a non-swing State. Sorry if you don’t like the cult analogy, but it is apt. When people will ignore what the guy actually says and does because they are so dug into this MAGA stuff, it applies. When they think the whole thing is a liberal hoax, it applies. When they discredit every single piece of information as “fake news”, it applies. Not everyone that supports the guy is guilty of this, but do you really not know a group of people that fits the cult description?

It is. Just bought a vehicle last weekend. It was almost too easy to get the deal I wanted...I ended up going home and thinking to myself, I’m pretty sure I could have done even better if I would have lowballed them more.

Might give it a few more days. Even the ball and chain thinks it’s a good time.

This is the most brilliant statement of the day. I am a democrat, have been all my thinking life. Trump is only president because his opponent was literally ill, and ran a really poor campaign when healthy. Trump was literally an afterthought in 2012 because there were more substantial candidates, 2016 became a complete circus with Bernie Sanders being the most competent politician and his party squashed his ability to win. The consequences of such absurdity is Donald Trump as president of the United States. Donald is who he is...he hasn't changed and isn't changing...we are facing the consequences of being such an apathetic and ignorant populace..we are in a great situation and have been born into a great nation but we are not a great people.

For anyone who doesn't think it's dangerous for a President to tout hope around an unproven therapy, the CDC just had to put out a health alert.

Chloroquine phosphate, when used without a prescription and supervision of a healthcare provider, can cause serious health consequences, including death.

At this time, there are no routinely available pharmaceutical products that are FDA-approved for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19. Pharmaceutical chloroquine phosphate and hydroxychloroquine sulfate are approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat specific medical conditions, such as malaria, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. Currently, these medications are being studied and evaluated as treatment for COVID-19; however, their efficacy to either prevent or treat this infection are unknown.

You know I really truly believed that if Bernie had won the Democrat primary in 2016 that he would have beat Trump in the general.

Now I'm not so certain since he's now getting whooped by Biden who seemed dead in the water not too long ago.

Be interesting to see where the parties go after this election. The Donald is unique and there's no one on the GOP bench that has his weird sort of policy mix or political style.

I guess Pence would be next up, or someone like Nikki Haley, but those folks are much more "normal" GOP and probably would leave a lot of Trumpsters feeling left behind. They certainly wouldn't have the same "F You" approach to everything. I've seen people say that the kids might run, but it would probably more than likely be Jared or Ivanka and not Don Jr...and Javanka is not popular with the Trump crowd either.

I don't even know where to begin with the Democrats. Everyone is so far left except Biden, and he's already an old potato. Be interesting to see if someone like Buttigieg pulls a Bill Clinton and becomes a little more moderate to move into Biden's slot or if they go find someone else to play that role.

Speak for yourself.
You are saying that a nation that uses 25% of the world's resources for 3% of the world's population...is the 2nd fattest...most unhealthy for the investment...has one of the highest suicide, homicide, and drug overdose rates in the world, while barely ranking in the top 30 globally educationally is a great group of people? I seriously doubt people coming on a college football message board to tell me how great they are, are actually great people. We have a great system, and we are born into a great situation. I also have a little bit more exposure to non-americans, people who have come into our great situation. I can tell you there is a distinct difference in human quality between a person who is a 4th generation American, and someone who have recently come here...like I said...we are a great nation but we are running out of great people.

I didn't know that the democratic establishment was so corrupted by elite wealth. Nothing brings out that corruption like a democratic socialist who just wants to return things to what they used to be...affordable healthcare and education. That is scary because so many are getting rich off our illness and debt.

At the time, I was sick of the BS from the Democratic Party and Hillary represented everything wrong with it and politics. However, the idea that an “outsider” with no experience in gov at all should run the country was pretty misguided. We wouldn’t do that in any other field.

I think he didn’t take many aspects of the job seriously (like the corona virus). Just look at some of his cabinet decisions! I think he made little effort to unite the country together and has actually tried to divide people. I also think the war on the free press is dangerous. I had hoped he would have some fresh ideas, would energize and unite the country and would make an attempt to be presidential and would grow on the job. In hindsight, had we known a crisis would arise, maybe we should have elected someone with a knowledge base, connections, etc in gov and maybe that’s how we should vote, because you never know when we will need someone to make tough crisis time decisions.

Not sure being a fatty or struggle with suicide make you not a great person? I mean there's A LOT in-between great and not great I would think.

Yes, there are a lot of crappy people, but we're still the greatest country on earth & that's because of the people in my opinion.

Except he wants to accomplish all of that by having the government control everything, which would in turn, make everything crappier. That's not "returning things to what they used to be".

Also, Bernie has been given plenty of exposure from 2016 and now to win the Democrat Primary this year to make his case. The people have spoken, they don't want Bernie. Nothing the Democrat establishment did this year to keep him from winning the people's votes.
