I know many around here want a "clean" program all the way around. They have the presumption that, that is how TO ran things. Which is horribly inaccurate. TO tried to run a clean program and Im sure that was his goal, but his players weren't angels by any means.
Many of these kids come from less then perfect home life and use football as a means to escape from their issues. We can't pass on every top player that has some issues or baggage. Now yes I agree, it depends on what the baggage is. The idea that Nebraska can only go after player who have a perfect life and no issues is silly. If that is true we would have very few recruits to choose from. My thought is take a shot with any kid who is willing to give us the time of day. Deal with any issues they have down the road. If there comes a point where their issues become a distraction to the team or to the safety of others, then yes they may need to move on.
Hopefully down the road we can be a bit more picky on who we have to take and not, but for now bring em all in.
