To me what we're discussing is who's the better coach. If Cignetti goes winless (your words) I have no idea how anyone could think he's still a better coach than 90%+ of college football coaches due to 1 season?

I think the tweet was referring to Oklahoma's recent hiring of Washington State's OC, Ben Arbuckle. Arbuckle is 29 and led Washington State's offense to No. 12 nationally in scoring offense, No. 9 in passing efficiency and No. 22 in total offense. He was Cam Ward's OC at Washington State last year. The year before that, he was the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Western Kentucky, where their quarterback led the country in passing yards. Don't be surprised if Arbuckle brings Washington State's quarterback with him to Oklahoma. As a sophomore this year, he threw for he 3,139 yards and 29 touchdowns
We just disagree on who the better coach would be if Cignetti goes winless (again, your words) in his remaining Indiana tenure.
It depends on what Indiana does in the playoffs. Do you remember the coach for the 2022-2023 national championship runner-up? Would you want him as our coach?

Instant success as Indiana? Find me another Indiana example of a perennial loser and define success.
As you said it’s Indiana - so find another with 6 losing seasons that win 11 games year 1. I’ll wait. Stop acting like it’s the norm and we are the outliers.
Oh, I agree. But he won so many games in 2021 and winners win and are awesome compared to our guy.
But then a few years later they produce a losing season and lose to our loser so then he must totally suck.
It's hard keeping up on who is awesome and who completely sucks and which years count and which don't.

It's not hard to find instant success... given you have a good coaching staff. That was my caveat. We didn't have a good coaching staff in Rhule's first two years. I hope and think it's very possible he could put one together this off-season. And on-field success would soon follow. We will see.

We all agree Indiana has had instant success. If 11-1 is the bar - then show me the long list of teams that makes the process of turning a program so easy. My point - Indiana’s year is exceptional but is extremely rare.
