Because players see a team that just needs the smallest improvement to be really really good. Why would you want to flip to N other than $$$? Maybe that’s all it is anymore.

Likely not true. A bowl game between the 2 would be a 1 possession game in Vegas eyes.Probably true unfortunately…
Usually when that happened he was holding the ball too long. He has to sense that and get rid of it. We play a lot against future NFL edge guys. You can’t stand back there for 4 seconds and not expect some heat. Also needs some tackles that can protect the edge. DR got killed by the speed rush off the edge way too much this year.
As I often said with Frost, there are lots of contributing factors to the mistakes but at the top of the list is how you practice. We're seeing a lot less mistakes (pre-snap penalties for example) than we did under Frost and the players are playing harder (that's not saying much). So there's been improvement, but not enough. With regard to the special teams, it really looks like they do not practice any of that enough. Iowa beat us in one area- special teams. So that has got to get a lot better. At times we literally look like the Keystone Cops out there. You can’t make some of the stuff up.
That is something Dylan has got to work on. Staying in the pocket, sensing pressure, moving up & getting rid of the ball. I foresee a big jump with Dylan in year two.Usually when that happened he was holding the ball too long. He has to sense that and get rid of it. We play a lot against future NFL edge guys. Indiana must be fools then. I understand what you're saying, but it's not hard to have instant success with the current college football landscape. As I often said with Frost, there are lots of contributing factors to the mistakes but at the top of the list is how you practice. As for the offense, DH highlighted some of the things he noticed. One thing that is GLARING is his comment that "if we cannot execute it well in practice, it's not going on the play sheet on game day". Sloppy execution in practice, players confused, running too many plays, etc. That's Coaching 101. Frankly, before Dana got here, the staff got the results that they deserved.
Ultimately Rhule is responsible for everything. But by making some staff changes and raising the bar/expectations in practice, this team should start winning close games. We've all seen good coaches have bad years. It's smarter to let a coach make some adjustments after two years of really getting to know the situation. Otherwise, we're just expecting almost instant success and that is a fool's errand.
DR came in very inexperienced with pocket movement and wasn't being coached up. He relies way too much on arm talent and tends to just drift backward instead of using and trusting in the pocket. He will learn to move laterally within the pocket to open passing lanes, which will help his tackles, and he needs to use his checkdowns. There was a visible celebration on the sideline one of the few times he actually checked it down as a 3rd or 4th option, and he left a lot of yards on the field getting sacked instead of checking it to Emmitt. True Freshman aren't supposed to be playing QB, even in 2024, there are consequences for it.Also needs some tackles that can protect the edge. DR got killed by the speed rush off the edge way too much this year.
As long as TW stays, then yes - schedule sets up for Rhule to have a big year 3It’s easy for the boo birds right now (even though they’re just all over the place with each passing week) but if Dana and Raiola stay, I think Rhule takes us on his 3rd year jump.
I sure hope so.If Cortez Mills is N, that likely means Holgorson is staying?
It would seem like an odd flip if there was uncertainty with the offensive staff. Maybe that’s why it’s just crystal balls at this point. It also may be a sign Dylan isn’t going anywhere eitherIf Cortez Mills is N, that likely means Holgorson is staying?

OU is trying to hire an OC.As of now, Mills is still an OU commit. Perhaps he knows that DH for 2025 may not happen.
I said this 10 days ago along with Michael Terry. Kackdawg laughed at my comment. What do you think now? I said just wait for it.
Holla
I’m giving you shit. Yes, that’s fair.I laughed because you included him as a commit and he wasn't one. Terry wasn't one either. THATS why I laughed. I'm taking your advice and "just waiting for it".
It's wrong until it's not...with both guys so yeah that's why I laughed. Nothing would make me happier if you were right though.
I'll just believe it when I see it. That fair?
Holla
No but it affects our chances with Cortez. That isn’t breaking news.

Hopefully he learned from his mistakes and it won’t happen againHe wasn’t holding the ball too long on the last offensive play vs Iowa. That defensive end was on him very quickly.
This is a great postI hope you understand that the team we put on the field against Iowa not only could have 10-11 wins, but probably should, that the kids are far too talented and hard-working to have been treated as a chess-board for Rhule's nepotism and hand-outs. That Nebraska team, with the right offensive and special teams coaches could/should be in the running for the playoffs. We had a very friendly schedule, a remarkably healthy season, our 5 star qb recruit is really good, our line pushed Iowa and Wisconsin around, and front 7 is one of the best in the conference...but we have the worst special teams and the worst OC for most of the season. WR play is really hard to quantify outside of drops but our blocking only improved with a new OC, which lead a more effective running game. Our success isn't about development or time, it is about Rhule bringing in the best coaches. Will he?
Would we be pissed to be Missouri right now?Indiana must be fools then. I understand what you're saying, but it's not hard to have instant success with the current college football landscape.
Satt was spotted in Lincoln driving a Boomer Sooner golf cart. Took him forever to go anywhere because he couldn't pass.OU is trying to hire an OC.
