Complete rebuild can't happen with Raiola coaching

I keep seeing people say "complete rebuild", alluding to it's going to take patience to see results. And while I understand that, at the same time, you can't have a rebuild using ANY of the same coaches from the previous staff. Especially not at the most important position group on the field.

You can't take a house with a severely damaged foundation and say "it'll be a complete rebuild" and then just toss on some new siding, and repaint some of the rooms, while completely ignoring the crumbling foundation.

While Rhule was not my first choice, I was certainly willing to give him a chance and be hopeful. Then once he announced he was keeping Raiola, I sighed and said to myself, "might as well just start looking for a new AD and start raising money for Rhule's buyout right now."

Trev better tell Rhule to start looking for a new o-line coach and make him the highest paid position coach in the program.

The O Line is the most important group on the field. I have been saying since Frost took over and it is still shit. I'd fire Riola at half time and replace him with just about anyone. But to be honest, we need a ****ing homerun hire for that position group. OC sucks too. Pound sand.

We could easily get beat today by one score and shit better start changing now, not 2 or 3 years from now.

In our revolving-door of coaches, we have seen that the right assistant can make a big difference on the offensive line. Raiola was retained in order to have a snowball's chance in hell of landing his nephew. The moment he failed in that regard, he should have been shown the door.

Our left tackle doesn’t have quick enough feet to play there. The rest of the O line isn’t awful. Everybody has talent now so it’s not like every O lineman is going to win his block on every play. The Pipeline isn’t suddenly running on the field.

You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit no matter how good of a coach you are. We've known that we have no talent on the line and it shows, that's all.

Huskers are avg 5+ ypg in nearly every game (4.9) against Minny. Pass game sucks but that is OL and QB. Huskers are avg 235 ypg rushing. Pass blocking was terrible under Frost/Mickey as well. To be determined.

It’s all about when are the offensive linemen going to ask themselves “when am I going to get tired of getting my ass kicked?” The things the coaches are doing is working. Players are bigger, stronger and not sacrificing speed. Others are leaner and stronger and able to move around better. Coaches can’t go out there and do it for them. The offensive line just flat out is not executing. It’s an attitude thing that won’t change until the players make it change. Maybe stick Sledge, Gottula and Hood out there if they’re healthy. Get them out there and start building something new. I don’t know. Nobody has the answer. Even you couch coaches couldn’t go in there and fix it right now.

I don’t believe it’s as clear as you think that Raiola was kept to try to land Dylan. Raiola is proving to be a damned good recruiter of linemen. Coaching the O line isn’t rocket science. I trust Foreman’s opinion of him WAY more than any posters on social media. We HAVE to develop a left tackle and we’ll be fine. We’re never going to have the advantage with our O line that we had with Eppley’s vitamins ever again. We need to get that out of our heads.

He's had 2 years to bring in a starting quality LT and hasn't done it. With the ease of bringing in guys from the transfer portal, there's no excuse for that. They still don't look that well coached. The OL doesn't know how to get to the 2nd level. They get easily confused in pass protection if there's any sort of stunt or blitz called. And they don't always play hard. Unless there's massive improvement in line play from now until the end of the season, Raiola needs to be out the door.

That would be great if we had people to come in and do the job. If the freshmen aren’t ready the B1G schedule will only continue to knock our QB’s out of games. Just have a little bit of common sense. That’s all, just a little bit.

Lutovsky isn't as impressive as I thought he'd be. But there's some good things too. Piper has shown a lot of improvement this year all around. Benhart has shown some improvement in the running game. Noulli has been doing well for the most part. If you have a LT who sucks ass though and makes the entire line look bad, it's all for naught. And there's no excuse from the coaching staff for that.

Our Oline is not there obviously. However, I'm not going to get too ticked off after we just ran for over 300 yards, and could have had 400. Next week if we have 45 yards on 20 carries, then I'll be pissed.
