Coach Prime struggling on signing day

You know what, this is a really good quote and one other thing, so far, it seems/feels like Rhule wants to be at NU.

Frost, right away, seemed to dislike it, I don't think that is the right word or fair but he whole "Don't ask about my wife, or my family' it was like he just didn't want to be here.
Frost was a pretentious asshat.

How long has that one been in the hopper waiting for just the right time? Haha. I also listen to the Statler Bros and all the Paul Harvey "Rest of the Stories" I can find, if you care. Dork.
I've used it before, and will again. Anyone who is a fan of Cowherd, and admits it, has it coming. You love Cowherd, and listen to that other stuff, and I'm the dork? C'mon!!!

And here they all come in their full glory. All the usual degenerates from the open board.
Yourself included, right?

When I wrote my original post, not understanding why people hate on Deion it was tongue in cheek. This site is full of white boomers who hate him because he doesn’t do things “the right way” pointing out racist tropes how Deion handles things publicly in what is a very slimey business. College football sold out long before Deion and there are egos just as big, if not larger than his.

That doesn’t include transfer portal. Much more accurate…

Ok. But their only 2 spots ahead of us with the transfers. They're pretty far behind us with HS recruits.

Sanders will not be successful there trying to build from the transfer portal. But then again I don't think building is what his goal is.

Yeah and you could also argue that transfer players will have more of an immediate impact (see USC last year) so Deion actually emphasized the right things. Plus he did it with less time than Rhule and blah blah blah. It all gets pretty subjective. Fvck Deion and Fvck CU but being objective, they have a higher ranked class than we do right now.

So he's only signed 9 transfers, and half of them are from a Jackson State team that couldn't beat NC Central. Two of the others are from bad FCS teams, one is from a MAC team, and the other two are from Power 5 teams but they didn't really do much. Seems pretty unimpressive considering all the hype.

Help me understand the transfer rankings… according to 247, Iowa’s 2 transfer gets, a 4 star and 3 star player, ranks 13 places higher than Nebraska’s transfer portal gets include five 4 star players and one with zero stars…

Iowa is 22nd and Nebraska is 35th.

My guess is Nebraska’s transfer portal class is better than Iowa’s.

Colorado has a 5 star, a 4 star, five 3 stars a 2 star and one with no stars. Their HS class is ranked 53rd.

I guess I just don’t understand how that transfer class is 28 places better than Nebraska and enough to jump their class nearly 40 places when combining transfer portal to HS recruits.

I don’t get it.

28th is better than 43. Kinda like golf.. you want a lower number. You’re welcome.
You can’t cherry pick to exclude transfer players just to try to make an argument. It’s 2022, it doesn’t work that way anymore. As already mentioned, see USC last year (extreme example). 70th ranked recruiting class, 1st ranked transfer class, combined for 6th ranked class overall. And I’d say it made a significant immediate impact for them considering the turnaround. You’re welcome.

So when Nebraska wins 42-10 next year will you still think Colorado is better?

That’s it? Hilarious. Amazing how things went from 4 and 5 stars will flock to CU to play for him because he’s so cool, to this. The guy has no coaching experience outside 2 seasons at a HBCU, is taking over a 1-win team, but hey a site says their class full of Jackson State transfers is #29 so Prime is amazing and killing it.

The hate on Deion here is really strange. He instantly elevated Colorado’s program. I’m not sure any other coach outside of elites, could have the program in the shape it is right now after a couple weeks. His ego? Every coach has an ego and presents it in different ways. His culture is what you have a problem with. Deion has maintained relevancy and was a cultural icon worshipped by the parents of current recruits. He is putting together a good system in Colorado. Game day coaching? Who knows.. Deion isn’t new to football. These same arguments were used against Frank Martin, he turned out alright despite a tougher mountain to climb.
F Colorado and f prime we're gonna kick their sorry asses

I couldn't explain how it works if I tried, but here's a pretty good article about it...

All I know is that it's pretty widely considered the most accurate as it includes transfers. To exclude transfers in today's college football climate is pretty silly.
I get that you don’t know, neither do I, but it’s obviously weighted heavily toward skill positions, if Iowa’s 2 transfers (a 4 and a 3 star) rate 13 points higher than Nebraska’s five 4 stars and one 0 star.

How under any formula imaginable Iowa has the 22 rated transfer class and Nebraska the 35 rated transfer class makes no sense to me.

I don't think it's heavy for skill positions. They claim it's just their overall rating, which is made up of all kinds of stuff. This year, for example, they have several linemen in the top 25 recruits in the nation. I'd imagine if some of those dudes were in the transfer portal, they'd rate higher than the guys below them at skill positions.

Also don't think you're looking at the stars quite right. They do have Iowa with a 4 and a 3 star, but us with one 4 star and zero 3 stars. Those guys had stars in high school, but, for whatever reason, they have them as zero stars now. Could be they know what they're talking about and all those guys flamed out. I'm hopeful they don't and Rhule knows much better and found some diamonds.

Anyway, I try not to take any of it too literally as it's clearly an inexact science, at best. But I do think it's the best barometer available top to bottom for that kind of stuff.

Only one of the Husker transfers seems to be scored as transfer the rest are only rated high school. Thinking that is why the transfer ranking is so low for Nebraska.

End of the day, think the guys coming in from elsewhere will do just fine and play well. Rankings are opinions after all.

I’m thinking they rank players that have played collegiately instead of giving a ranking to a player who hasn’t played in 4 years of college but was 4 star out of high school.

Thanks to both of you, at least now I have a better grasp of how they scored. Didn’t catch the HS only for most of our transfers. Not sure what that means, but it seems like some of those guys we got were pretty highly regarded… but at least now the rankings make more sense in that most of our guys didn’t get a T rating.
