Coach Prime struggling on signing day

Only 2 of their commits have signed, their fax machine broke? 😆

#63 ranked class though, not bad for the worst program in P5. We coming. 🤣

I think they've received a lot more than that. First article I read on the subject had 11....and they are in on some pretty good kids still.

The meltdown would ensue if they beat us.

I'm pretty sure Colorado football has right in the neighborhood of 9 or 10 fans total nationwide.

That's one reason why I think Sanders was a curious hire. He's betting the farm on his personality coupled with NIL money (the main theme of this recruiting cycle for Colorado was sports cars, bags of cash, and Sanders selling gear with his nickname on it). Where does all that NIL $$$$ come from with the limited interest the football program has?
I read that a single booster scratched a $10M NIL check for CU after Prime was hired.

Spoken like a true Colorado fan. Don’t ever care about their team but when something “good” happens, all of a sudden they are one of your favorite teams.
I don’t really have a favorite team, I cheer for the Iowa schools, Nebraska, Minny and the Kansas schools. If I had a favorite I suppose it would be ISU, but not really. Chill my dude.

The hate on Deion here is really strange. He instantly elevated Colorado’s program. I’m not sure any other coach outside of elites, could have the program in the shape it is right now after a couple weeks. His ego? Every coach has an ego and presents it in different ways. His culture is what you have a problem with. Deion has maintained relevancy and was a cultural icon worshipped by the parents of current recruits. He is putting together a good system in Colorado. Game day coaching? Who knows.. Deion isn’t new to football. These same arguments were used against Frank Martin, he turned out alright despite a tougher mountain to climb.
Sounds like you fit right in with the buffalo fans

Why? Because they hired a guy that ran fast 20 years ago?
Deion is objectively very entertaining and extremely successful

If he flops at CU, it’ll be the first time something he touched didn’t turn to gold

Sucks he’s at CU because he’s super easy to root for

We better beat them next year

You think everything he’s touched has turned to gold?

You might want to read up on Prime Academy or his first marriage.

I liked him way better before he did the lambos and purses pics.

He’s not disliked because he put the team in the national spotlight for the first time in decades.

He’s disliked because football is a game of camaraderie. The NFL started to lose that camaraderie somewhere in the 90s with the free agency system. The game used to keep teams largely in tact.

Deion is a symbol of that change coming to CFB; a team sport being devolved into each players individual brand awareness and total roster reshuffling each year.

The sentiment is that CFB is losing its soul, and people like Deion are hitting the fast forward on that happening.

I never cared much for Sanders and for all I care, he can lose every single game he coaches. But college football's "soul" was sold to the highest bidder long before Deion ever got involved, and long before NIL and the transfer portal existed.

Here is a great interview from Deion with S.Sharpe. In review....his health is going to be an issue going forward, really bad deal with history of blood clots and he nearly died when he lost his toes.

Wished he wouldn't have threw 13 kids out on their ass.....but he does entertain.
There are a thousands of schools who would love to have some of the most unqualified power 5 players available...just maybe not power 5 schools. Scholarships are annual, kids can leave them, quit them and coaches MUST have the ability to not renew contracts of players they didn't recruit. Prime is likely addressing issues within the most pathetic program in college football and releasing 13 players might motivate those who are left and those coming in. I feel bad for a lot of people in the world but kids playing at the highest level, who have the ability to make money off of said position have nothing entitled...go play lower division to get the experience.

It is a hard balance...Rhule has now left three teams in 6 years. Can you care deeply about the guys in the room while also looking for better opportunities? Can you care deeply for the community and program while also looking for an upgrade? At the very least he is a great actor and seems to hire them as well. Probably an upgrade over the last 5 coaches who couldn't hide their contempt or incompetence.

You know what, this is a really good quote and one other thing, so far, it seems/feels like Rhule wants to be at NU.

Frost, right away, seemed to dislike it, I don't think that is the right word or fair but he whole "Don't ask about my wife, or my family' it was like he just didn't want to be here.

Yes.

And in another thread he is praising the OL play and it’s coaching. He must have been watching a different team than I was.

What’s funny is Kirk Ferentz says the same thing about their horrendous OL and OL coach. But Iowa fans aren’t happy about those comments.

The reason Rhule and Ferentz are both saying that is because they have no ability to improve personnel immediately. Sticking with what they have is their only option.

The reason Deion isn’t saying that about his team is he thinks he can go get something better immediately. Time will tell if he can.

What a dumbass post. The players on your team are all your players. That is how it works when you take the job. And Nebraska has every chance to go improve personnel, just like CU or anyone else, we just happen to have a professional coach and not an immature, selfish clown in charge.

😂 You’re a riot, chastising Rhule for leaving teams. Right after you slobbered all over Deion’s knob, who left Jackson St. in the lurch after 3 seasons.

Deion leads with honesty, that is his schtick...brutal honesty...he has walked the walk in everything he has done...been successful at everything he put his mind to from football to baseball to broadcasting to preaching to business to politics...he can't suddenly become politically correct.

He will get players, likely really good ones. Will be curious what he can do with them and how they handle adversity
