Charlton Warren to Vols as DB coach

What is it with secondary coaches that makes them move around so much? Darlington coached here for 30 years (17 with the secondary) but since then, the secondary has been a revolving door. And it hasn't been just a Nebraska thing. It's every where. DB coaches just appear to either like to move around a lot or they are the blame for a bad defense. I don't get it.

Was Darlington really the last guy to recruit a safety and coach him all 5 years? Crazy

2004 -2007 Phil Elmassian (Secondary 2004, CB 2005-2007)

2005-2007 Bill Busch (safeties 2005-2007)

2008 -2010 Marvin Sanders

2011 - Corey Raymond

2012 - 2013 Terry Joesph

2014 - Charlton Warren

2015-2016 Brian Stewart (Secondary 2015, CB 2016)

2016 – Mark Banker (Safeties)

2017- Donte Williams (CB Only so far)

2017 – Unknown (safeties)

Get use to it. It's the new way. D Williams will be gone in 3 years.

Disco will be a head coach in 2 or 3 years.

Charlton was kind of a victim.of circumstances. Came here, coaching change and all of that, left for NC, not sure how that all went. When looking at coaches history it is pretty common to see lots of one year stints and then some two year gigs at smaller schools and then they get their names out there and have a reputation. These coaches are a very tight group and pretty much know each other, upcoming assistants and the rest. They also can get titles added such as DB coach and associate D coaches or something. They also often switch coaching positions, LBs then DB's kind of thing. Good luck to him, liked him when he was here, thought he should have got paid more and maybe he would have stayed.
