I really don’t understand your distain for Casey. Fake in interviews?? That’s a new one.
you've never listened to his interviews? he's a great talker.. talk and talk and even more talk.. he will go on and on, and tell you everything you want hear, or at least everything he thinks you want to hear..
it's all bs.. people like that are very fake, 2 faced, and usually make great administrators and politicians.
In fact, I predict that will be his most successful skill in life. It will get him to very high places, and it's not at all unlike Trev Alberts ability to talk, or even Matt Rhule's ability to talk.
I see all people like that in a certain light. Not everyone else puts 2 and 2 together, and that's okay.
As to my disdain for CT, it's based on the above and how I classify the guy.. he's like any other smooth talking rat..
Now if he had won a bunch of games, maybe I would have changed my mind, but he didn't. He's pretty much exactly what he was at UT. He's a 50% win/loss kind of guy.
It's not really hard to put all this together, but I understand you're a normal Husker fan who lives in a bubble and are unable to think for yourself.
Tell me, how many smooth talking QB's have been really good ones at Nebraska?
Tommy Frazier? Turner Gill? Taylor Martinez? Tommy Armstrong? Joe Ganz? Not even Zac Taylor was a smooth talker..
The whole thing to me goes back to leadership and having a team have trust and faith in their leader.
As to my initial thoughts on Purdy last year, I did think he was more 'real' and not the smooth talking rat that CT is. I also considered that Purdy was the younger brother of Brock. Not just in athleticism as a comparison, but
because he was the younger brother, his social skills will inherently be better. All kids that have older siblings are inherently better at the soft social skills necessary for being a good leader.
What I didn't account for is the obvious lack of confidence that was displayed on the field. That is something that nobody expected from a successful HS athlete.
