Bradley is N!

Welcome to the Red! Does this mean we stop chasing any other RBs? I hope he will work as hard from the Huskers as it has been represented he worked to get his grades right and qualify. Sounds like he is right where he wants to be which is a great thing.

Just watched his Hudl film. Being in Illinois, don't know anything about the competition he's facing, but seems like he has great vision when he's in the open.

I mean, he's facing the best competition Nebraska has to offer, if nothing else.

No, we need one more. RB depth is thin.

All things considered, I think the wisest move would be to transition to recruiting backs for the 2018 class.

Excellent addition to the class by the way. Four star talent in my book. Wouldn't doubt it if he earns playing time as early as next year.

Appears to be one of the best backs to come out of Nebraska in a while. We HAD to take him. Period. With our depth chart, he likely has a year to get stronger and learn the offense. I've heard for months that if he qualified he was going get an offer. Congrats young man.

Gotta love a commit from the best RB in Nebraska. Welcome!

Couple things jump out a me from his film right away:

He can and will embarrass kids in space.

Doesn't screw around if he sees a seam. If there's a lane, he's attacking it.

His QB has a really nice zone-read mesh...it takes me a second to find the ball even though I should know the RB is getting it because it's on his Hudl highlights.

LOVE how he positions his blocker at 0:50 to ensure the TD. He sees the guy has an angle and that his WR can throw him a block, so he forces the defender to come through the blocker to make a play on the ball. Nothing makes me crazier than seeing an RB cut across his blocker's face and put the defender right back in the play.

1:26 stop it. Just stop it. Haven't these kids in white been through enough?!?!?! He's already got like 6-7 TDs in that game and he breaks off a run like that and just embarrasses everyone in their back 7 like he had a score to settle with each and every one of them.

His WRs do not quit on him. Love to see them racing him toward the goal line to see if they can hit one last block for him.

2:45 hey kid I see you on the peel-back block.

Would like to see a little more leg churn out of him at times, but he's also gotta be tired. Sometimes when somebody has a decent wrap on him he just drops rather than really battle for it. BUT you can also see guys get the ball ripped trying to eek out extra inches, so I don't have a huge issue with it.

The more I watch his film the more I like it. There's no nonsense. I don't see any plays where I'm like, "Yeah, you got away with one there...you can't pull that BS in college."

Really like the angles he takes and how he gets north and south ASAP.

Happy for this young man! A talented instate kid that really wanted the Husker offer is great to see.

Kid has the most important key to a great RB and that is vision. Nebraska got a good one. Never met the kid or family but im so very happy for them but i think Nebraska got the better end if this deal. I see great things in the future !

Who needs to recruit if recruits are just going to fall into place? :)

Yah I agree, he may get a 2 year reprieve.

related to falling into your lap ... I know the coaches worked their tales off to recruit many of these kids but the recruitment of some of our higher profile recruits was greatly aided by our head coach's relationship with a long time NFL receiver who happened to have a son who happened to be a 4* receiver who happened to play on team with a bunch of other 4 and 5* recruits who have either committed to Neb or may in the near future. Those stars are not going to align again.

That's true, BUT, momentum is momentum. We've always been able to recruit fairly well; we did strike gold on Key Sr. just happening to have a great player as his son who just happened to have buddies who are also great; however, this is a staff that is used to recruiting the west coast, and we just picked up one of the best recruiters possible for that area in Donte Williams. Add to that the hype of Calibraska and the momentum of a fairly decent season, plus hopefully a decent season next year, and I see us building up a good amount of recruiting momentum.

Avery Roberts didn't come to us via that connection (our current highest rated commit). While the same circumstances won't happen again I think the number of recruits that didn't come to Riley via that connection proves he can recruit.

And if said recruits didn't like Riley and staff, no matter how much KJSr did, none of them would be coming. These guys you are speaking of have offers all over the nation and could go wherever they wanted.

This stuff happens all the time. Legacy recruits that come because dad played there. Recruits commit because of the coach. Whether it was initially KJSr who said let's check it out makes no difference to me. Riley still had to make them feel like they could play here.

Why did farniok commit last year? Or Lamar Jackson? What about JD Spielman or Tre Bryant? They weren't inner circle people with KJSr...

I gotta say, it does rub me the wrong way a bit the way some will try to minimize these coaches and their abilities.

Yeah. Also, I've always meant to bring this up: How is it that we tanked so hard over the last 15 years but Oklahoma only had a few off years of sucking before becoming prominent again? Oklahoma is as desolate and isolated a place as Nebraska is for sure, if not more so. So how did they do it?

You can easily say, sure, Oklahoma resides right above Texas, so they have access to tons of Texas talent. Fair enough. They have a rich tradition and good facilities, so that helps too. But you can also point to solid, tenacious recruiting. I think we can really do a lot to rebuild our football machine with this staff. I don't know that they'll ever win us another national championship, but for the next 4-5 years, I think these guys can really get our name back in the mix as a top national program. That is all I really care about, honestly.
