Bradley is N!

Yeah. Also, I've always meant to bring this up: How is it that we tanked so hard over the last 15 years but Oklahoma only had a few off years of sucking before becoming prominent again? Oklahoma is as desolate and isolated a place as Nebraska is for sure, if not more so. So how did they do it?

You can easily say, sure, Oklahoma resides right above Texas, so they have access to tons of Texas talent. Fair enough. They have a rich tradition and good facilities, so that helps too. But you can also point to solid, tenacious recruiting. I think we can really do a lot to rebuild our football machine with this staff. I don't know that they'll ever win us another national championship, but for the next 4-5 years, I think these guys can really get our name back in the mix as a top national program. That is all I really care about, honestly.

OU's head coach was John Blake who brought them top tier talent before being fired, and the ire of recruiting violations at his various stops forthwith. Stoops comes in and wins a title.

Oklahoma had a pretty rough stretch that got far worse than it has been here: From 1989-99 they went:

7-4
8-3
9-3
5-4-2
9-3
6-6
5-5-1
3-8
4-8
5-6
7-5

That stretch of five straight years without a winning record before they hired Stoops was rough. I remember feeling sorry for them in those 95, 96, 97 Thanksgiving Day games.

The bottom had pretty much fallen out at OU before Stoops. And of course Blake spent a couple of years at NU before moving on to NC.

You know we had a whole thread war going on about how NU doesn't hire top tier "big name" coaches when we have the opportunity.

Riley isn't even a whole month into having hired D. Williams, and the rest of the nation was shocked and glad for us that we'd make such a "big boy move".

Yet here we are, not 24 hours removed from the other thread, bemoaning the fact that KJ isn't going to shuttle us recruits anymore. That's why DW is here folks.

Not to mention cycling through 3 different coaches until they found their "home run" hire.
