Bowl Game

Sean Callahan said he talked to the AD and said that worst case scenario we are going to Phoenix for the rate bowl. And if we win Friday we will be in play for the Music City and ReliaQuest Bowls. Basically said that because of our fan draw will be treated as an 8 win team.
Yep with a he expanded playoffs tje smaller bowls need butts in the stands

Thanks. Conference tie in opponents to each of those scenarios...

Rate - Big 12
Music City - SEC
ReliaQuest - SEC

And it all depends on if Oregon, Ohio St, Indiana and Penn St all make the 12 team playoff..

Ohio St losses the CCG could knock them or Indiana out of the playoffs..

So if what Dannen said is correct Nebraska and the Clarkeyes are playing for Realiquest Bowl on Friday..

Still think only 3 B1G teams in the playoffs would send Indiana to the Citrus and Illinois to the Realiquest .

Expanded playoffs AND the trend over the past decade for many seniors to opt out. Of course NU fans are so hungry that even if several of our top seniors opt out, we’ll still travel anywhere.

Nashville was a blast. I'd definitely go back again.

Simply pathetic that was our last bowl game when you only need 6 wins nowadays to get to one.🤮

Hypothetical.
Say NU loses to Iowa and then goes to a bowl and loses again and finishes 6-7.

Is that progress?
as I stated when the OC move was made, I'm now not sure anyone can fairly judge one way or the other.

6-7 would seem like something other than progress, 8-5 would seem like a tremendous stride.

it's pretty much a restart, which I would consider progress regardless of our final record. especially if more staffing moves are made.

I'm interested to see if this program is ready to take the next step up. Winning one of the next two and finishing 7-6 would represent progress. 8-5 would confirm it if staff changes are made.

Finishing 8-5 and DH stays I predict that Nebraska would start next season ranked higher than anybody would expect next season like 19th.

All I ask is that we not be sent to Shreveport.

You have to squint more to recognize progress in that scenario. At the very least, the fans and players get to experience a bowl game. Considering the drought, that’s still an emotional win/release. 15 practices is a good thing. But there are other factors beyond our final W-L record.

How did we look in those last 2 losses?
Is Dana still the OC?
Other coaching changes?
How did the HS class finish?
Did the portal help or hurt us? How much?

These answers could make us feel better about 6-7, or feel worse about 8-5
