Purdue falls to the Badgers and loses 3rd in a row and Bucky is getting drilled at half at Penn State. Not really good for Nebraska either IMO.

Been saying Penn St is much better than their record..

Bucknuts were due to lose a game but didn’t expect the curb stomping.

Who could have predicted a clash of the two hottest teams in the conference when Penn State comes to Lincoln for the final game of the regular season??

How has Nebraska passed Purdue in the pecking order Nebraska has 4 losses Purdue has 3.o_O

Yea I don’t get how Nebraska is higher in the “pecking order” of a team that was proclaimed a #1 seed just days ago.

To pass them in the standings, Purdue would have to lose 2 of their final 3 and Nebraska would have to win out. They have PSU and Minnesota at home and at Illinois. Not going to hold my breath.

I actually think Penn State winning helps Nebraska. They’ve already played and lost to Ohio State. This gives Nebraska one more decent team to play for the final game if Penn State can stay hot.

Especially in the eyes of the NCAA committee.

I’d rather Nebraska possibly get another shot at OSU in the semis than Sparty. Just don’t like the matchup with Sparty.

If you read in to the guy's response, you'll see that NU is playing better as of late (pecking order) and "may" pass them in the standings. Now, I'll believe it when it happens, but the Huskers have been playing well as of late.

To get any benefit we need PSU to move up at least 10 rpi spots to make it a potential Quad 2 win.

Wtf are smoking? Wisconsin and Penn St. winning shows the committee the league isn't as bad as they thought. Purdue couldn't go on the road and win against a team that the committee thought was in the same breath as summit league schools. Purdue isn't going to lose to some summit league school!

Wtf are you smoking? That doesn’t change conference RPIs. These games are also showing the top conference teams are potentially not as good as they thought only days ago. I’d rather the BIG have a #1 seed than see Purdue lose to Wisky. I’d rather OSU win out and get a chance at knocking them off in the semis.

I’m not saying I like the committees criteria for selection, but it is what it is. I’d rather at this point have the chance to knock off as highly regarded team as possible in the semis of the BIG tourney, than give the committee a reason to think the top of this league isn’t as good as they thought.

I think Penn St beating Ohio St is much better for the league than Wisconsin beating Purdue.

I believe in order for the Big Ten to get more than 4 teams they need to show the league is at least 6 or 7 deep. Penn St and Maryland are those teams as of now. If Penn St, Nebraska or Maryland lose to anyone out side of the top 4, the league loses some of it's mojo.

The league also needs all of those teams to be in the quarterfinals of the B1G tourney and all 4 teams in the semi finals need to come from that group of 6 or 7. They can't have too many upsets and definitely cant have a 8 -14 playing in the semis.

I’ll bet ya 8-14 don’t make in the the Semis.

I thought you were in the betting mood.

What would you like to bet on?:p

Let's bet on the number of football games Nebraska wins in 2018. Pick the number of wins, person closest to the actual number wins. I say 9.

Or do you need to wait for Vegas to tell you how many they will win???

Should be a great atmosphere at this game. I envy those of you fortunate enough to have tickets. Make us proud.

And some people on this board lost their minds when we lost to PSU earlier this year.....They've got some players.

PSU will be a very tough game ... their current RPI - even after beating OSU is 74 .... we won't get much of a boost with a win - for all the regular season games remaining a loss hurts more than a win helps

Yeah, this happens in the SEC or Big 12, it’s parity. Big 10, “woah, are there any good teams?”

There are very many flaws in the RPI but they are the same for all teams and conferences .. the BIG, by RPI, is ranked 6th of the 6 major basketball conferences this year ... it is a down year

I can honestly see it both ways. But, we played Wiscy twice and with a win last night our road win against them gave us another Tier 2 win. With that said, Penn States win shifted our loss to them from tier 2 to tier 1 which puts us at 0-7. I'm not a huge fan of this tier system...a win @Wisconsin should not be equivalent to beating Michigan at home. Penn St RPI jumps up to 74 though. Gives us a chance to put another solid win on the board before NYC.

No doubt about it. The metrics may change in our favor a bit with that PSU win but the difference of going 2-1 vs 3-0 is roughly 12 RPI spots. That's huge.

Sorry, but nothing about the game shows Wisky or the Big X as being better than anyone thought. The 21-21 halftime score sure as heck isn't going to impress anyone either - not when Wisky has been torched by a number of teams. Almost every league has a bottom dweller jump up and beat a top team almost every year. Alone, the loss wouldn't have hurt Purdue much. Probably would have just been chalked up to one of those nights. But, three losses in a row certainly will.

By the way, so glad to see Happ nail the two free throws after Haas just bear hugged him way out past the time-line with the ball on the opposite side of the court just to make sure it was Happ who had to shoot. Official should have ignored that or called an intentional foul (or can they still call an intentional since it wasn't really flagrant).

UHHHH.I don't see us beating Michigan in the semifinals...debbie downer alert....relaxed teams win

I haven't looked up the new rule, so take it for what it's worth, but I recall hearing someone saying that "intentional" has been removed from calls as its not a referee's job to determine intent. So I believe it is only about flagrant or not at this point.

I believe the players were possibly confused that college was ruled by the same rules as NBA - where if you foul a player without the ball, it is an automatic intentional foul which results in free throws and the ball.

What is really dumb is now that Penn St has moved up to top 75 in whatever the latest metric is that gives Nebraska another loss in the top tier whatever...Dumb...when they played is what things should be measured by...same for a ranked Minnesota in December

We will make it to BIG Championship game. We will also hand Penn States ass to them on a platter in Lincoln as payback's a biotch and plus we are the overall better team even though lost to them in OT earlier this year, hell I also think we are a better overall team than OSU and if we do manage to play them in the tourney on a neutral court, we will beat their ass. I just don't see anyone beating us at PBR. KU beat us at the buzzer with a 3 pointer giving us our only loss this year there. I'm saying it now regardless of where they are ranked in the conference, Ohio State is completely overrated. The officials gave that game to OSU when we played them last month in Columbus as they were getting away with so much crap that was never called. To all of the Debbie Downers, yes Nebraska is that good and I actually think we have yet to see our best consistent play as I think that next level will come conference tourney time. I'm predicting NU/MSU in the Championship game and I can actually say, we won't win that game as MSU is clearly the best team by far in this conference. .

I frankly believe Nebraska is that good but other than the conf tourney we aren’t going to have a chance to prove it. Wins in our final regular season games aren’t going to prove it. You then NEED to beat a high quality opponent in a one game scenario in the tourney.

Getting to the BIG Championship game will pretty much guarantee us a spot to the BIg Dance as more than likely we will have played and beaten say OSU and Michigan if they keep winning or even Purdue to get to the conference title game. All 4 of our conference losses came on the road and 2 of those shoulda been W's and Nebraska has been showing itself as being a very tough team to beat on the road. Miles won't make the same mistakes twice. Had we started this lineup from the beginning we would've had a much better overall record. I don't see where Miles sits Palmer ever again if we have games going into OT. This team finds a way to win, especially when they are having an off night. The attitude and mantra that I see coming from this team is Refuse To Lose. Kind of hard to beat a team like that. Just sayin'
