Yeah, it’s just ‘buzz’ at this point but it seems clear that good coaches don’t like working for the guy. Meanwhile AM baseball has a losing record while Texas is 23-3

Too bad coaching trades are not allowed. NU could take Buzz, while sending Fred to College Station with a couple of analysts and administrators to be named later.

Do we have the NIL to compete in all of the sports? The Husker football monster gets angry if too much money goes into other programs.
How many ADs do you know? Do you follow the comings and goings of athletic administrators?
Know personally? None. Know that a successful football program is key the entire AD department success and the school has rabid fan base? The first three I listed above, for sure.
100% agree. Good coaches follow good NIL packages. We aren't getting a good coach with a Dollar General NIL. Not sure how they are going to remedy that issue.
The problem is we pay Fred too much for the results.
We extended him for zero reasons. In the past we have handed out 10's of Millions for nothing but stupid AD's. Even the AD's themselves got extensions for zero results.
The stupidity has to end.
That’s the issue our NIL is not good but we can’t be paying a coach 4.5 million for these results. Fred makes 1 million more than Huebert Davis at North Carolina and their fans are bitching he is overpaid. He had a National runner up and 4 20 win (27 two years ) seasons.
No, I just meant that you sound like a guy who could name off every AD in the Big 10 plus many others. I don't pay attention to any of that stuff. I would struggle to name five Power 5 ADs.
Totally agree!!! Keep Husker Football, Men's Wrestling, Women's Volleyball, Women's Bowling, Women's Rifle, Men & Women's Track and Men's Baseball, Women's Softball.
Hire a high school coach for Men's Basketball. Would save a lot of money to put into the pot!!!!

I actually was thinking about this yesterday. More along the lines of Nebraska basketball NIL is truly lacking. Let Fred coach out his contract then hire a top HS coach with a base of say 400k and heavy bonuses for say tourney appearances and win. Smaller bonus for a certain mark of season wins. Or wins in the conference tourney. And just maybe we find an izzo type in the HS ranks. Can’t be any worse
