Certain posters seems to just need a purpose to bitch and Moan about something. Even in February.
maybe he could be a TEBut Thomalla would see the field because he is a Nebraska kid?
herein lies the rubIf a kid or coach has the goods to do the job
oh tgat will come later😂😂😂And here I thought this thread was gonna be about HH..
If you say so. I don't think either would ever play a down here and both will be recruited over before getting a chance.
He threw for 700 fewer yards than Dylan on just 50 fewer attempts.Kong usually in step with you but just play devils advocate on Dayton,
He hasn’t had a chance to put a lot of film together. He backed up big bro his sophomore year. So he’s started 1 year of HS football
he led Buford further in the state playoffs last year then Dylan did the year before. And Dayton probably had less talent around him than Dylan is. GA HS football is elite
He’s shorter then what people like @ QB, and shorter then Dylan so that’s part of the reason why the low offers
He threw for 700 fewer yards than Dylan on just 50 fewer attempts.
He possesses none of the elite traits as big bro, last name excepted, of course.
Lack of talent is the reason for zero P4 offers.
Dayton has grown to 6'2 so his height is not a problem. Still growing as well.Kong usually in step with you but just play devils advocate on Dayton,

And if the staff is going to carry 5 QBs on the 105, I see no reason not to bring in 2 QBs in 2026. Warren and Dayton are likley better than Longval, Soukup, and Granstamd
He starts at a Georgia powerhouse, he didn't win the position by default. Dayton has a higher YPC average than Dylan did on a team with far less WR talent. He has an elite arm and has had a lot of advanced coaching. His lack of offers probably comes from the fact that he is about as sure of a "lock" to go to NU than any one is a lock anywhere. He threw for 700 fewer yards than Dylan on just 50 fewer attempts.

I have no idea. Just was pointing out a few things. From hat I've read he is pretty accurate on short and intermediate but kinda erratic on long balls. He’s far less accurate, even less mobile
I hope you’re right, but an elite kid being a “lock” to go somewhere has never stopped others from offering. Literally ever.
Consider me dubious.
He’s going into his senior yearI have no idea. Just was pointing out a few things. From hat I've read he is pretty accurate on short and intermediate but kinda erratic on long balls.
He's going into his junior year and has one year of starting. Let's see how he progresses. He has two years to get those other offers.
100% correct. If you have a chance to get the #1 rated 5* player in the country you do it. Even if it means keeping his relative employed and giving his brother a scholarship. No brainer.
It’s a catch 22 for Nebraska coaching staff the need to recruit the local talent but here lately look at all the busts from in state players! Is cam jurgens the last in state player to succeed and he struggled his first couple seasons
who knows, maybe the younger bro developes into the better football player. stranger things have happened. if after a couple three years things don't work out it;s not like we were guaranteed it would work out differently with someone else.If you have a chance to get the #1 rated 5* player in the country you do it. Even if it means keeping his relative employed and giving his brother a scholarship. No brainer.
If you keep 4-5 QBs on our roster you’re not going to stockpile top QBs. Maybe you can keep 2 top QBs with some age separation. IMO we need to keep a couple of developmental athletic QBs on the roster or we’ll perennially be shopping for a one and done mercenary starter. I don’t like our odds if we get caught up in that cycle. Find me the next Gerry Gdowski to develop.Yup it's definitely a catch 22. Recruit and sign guys like Kaelin, McMorris and Hall etc and we celebrate. A year later two are basically "processsed" out and the other leaves.
The old "he's likely to stick around" mantra isn't really a good deal unless the kid is really good. Borderline and below average kids will he gone in 2 years anyways. Lately we have recruited and signed many more of that version of kids than stars. Especially if we are talking skill positions. It's not been the best.
I'm not sure how we can afford to sign "marginal" instate guys moving forward. Even the ones we thought were "good" ended up meh.
I've said it in the past but the more these new 105 rules come into play the more I think you have to grade guys evenly regardless of where they are from. I'm comparing every instate OL,DL, QB etc with his national competition and whoever is the best should get the offer. If they flame out they flame out.

Also interesting what the three fellows you mentioned have in common…Yup it's definitely a catch 22. Recruit and sign guys like Kaelin, McMorris and Hall etc and we celebrate. A year later two are basically "processsed" out and the other leaves.

Don’t forget hiring the niece to a recruiting positionIf you have a chance to get the #1 rated 5* player in the country you do it. Even if it means keeping his relative employed and giving his brother a scholarship. No brainer.
You’d do it if you couldDon’t forget hiring the niece to a recruiting position

3 more years for DR+Rhule to make good on their of the bargain (actually winning)
We need QBs in the system. The kid loves NU. Even if he doesn't play right away, I bet he would be more willing to stick around, develop and provide depth than most guys.He threw for 700 fewer yards than Dylan on just 50 fewer attempts.
He possesses none of the elite traits as big bro, last name excepted, of course.

He can walk on, right? Or does that count towards the 105?We need QBs in the system. The kid loves NU. Even if he doesn't play right away, I bet he would be more willing to stick around, develop and provide depth than most guys.
they countHe can walk on, right? Or does that count towards the 105?
The roster limit is 105 and all can be on scholarship. There will be a minimum number of scholarships that will have to be used. That number will be addressed at some point. I’ve read proposals for 85-90% of allowable scholarships, athletic department wide, need to be funded. Also a minimum amount of actual dollars, I believe $6m or something like that, must be spent on scholarships. Again athletic department wide.He can walk on, right? Or does that count towards the 105?
The problem for a 3 star guy transferring is that he might have to transfer down to "not wait" to play. Kaelin was a 4 star Elite Eleven QB who maybe has an inflated self value and he was looking at waiting until at least his senior year to play barring an injury. I believe IF we can get that 3 star area kid who wants to work on his game by growing physically and mentally while getting coached by Dana, that our chances are better of getting him to stick around. I REALLY would like to see a more athletic kid on the roster who still has some arm talent. It's a huge advantage. That all sounds good in theory. I just don't see it working in today's college game. Similar to Kaelin I don't think guys want to wait. My guess is TJ or the portal QB won't be in the roster after this year.
It's how the game will be played moving forward I THINK. Guys won't stick around to develop IF they have other options.

Have you met the niece? Seems to me like a good "recruiter" to me. Not sure why we would hire some random bumpkin from Exeter instead of her for that job.Don’t forget hiring the niece to a recruiting position

Yea because those are the only 2 optionsHave you met the niece? Seems to me like a good "recruiter" to me. Not sure why we would hire some random bumpkin from Exeter instead of her for that job.
And he's still a better prospect that a 5'8" transfer from Dordt or fumduck U. Gotta have guys on the depth chart who can physically do the job if we have a plethora of QB injuries. We need to carry at least 5 QBs IMO and without the option of walk ons you're going to have to offer kids you might not otherwise offer. You're not going to keep five 4 star kids on your roster. I would MUCH rather have a low 3 star area athlete with some potential taking up a QB slot than trying to scrounge up somebody else's leftovers at the last minute. Watch him go to NDSU and end up on an NFL roster like Stick.Of course
We will treat him like royalty and he has no other P4 interest
Also take that reduction of yardage with a grain salt. His team featured two RBs last year that one’s going to TN and the other is likely going somewhere in the SEC.He threw for 700 fewer yards than Dylan on just 50 fewer attempts.
