I tend to think the over-reliance on touch passes is a bad habit rather than being driven by an injury, and I hope the coaching staff addresses it.
Don’t disagree but AM had a better frosh year than DR - no real debating that. Also - Barney and E Johnson will see time in the NFL.
I really like his ball placement on the running backs to the sideline. It’s a little thing but they were able to be in full stride by the time the ball got there.
Agree. I think he can be all world but isn’t the athlete people think. If he were on OSU or Georgia or legit team with talent he’d look all world. He can’t improvise enough on his own. If he were throwing to OSU wr he’d look amazing. Wont happen here but I’ll guess a top 10 pick. Sadly we won’t see that again for decades.

The rub on Amart was poor decision making when the situation called for the opposite. That became less of an issue for him when he went to the Little Apple. QBs tend to look better on teams where the rest of the offensive players aren’t dicking around. I’d say most of the time this season, Raiola played within himself.
Martinez was a better athlete. Dylan is a much better quarterback.
I agree. But AM had less interceptions as a frosh than DR. AM seemed to regress as the years went by but over 600 yards rushing and 8TDs on the ground. DR couldn’t rush for that many yards if he ran it every single play.
As was stated, Martinez played in zero bowl games in 4 years.

So Dylan had a better year? You can pin a couple of losses directly on him (e.g. Iowa). There was a game (maybe Ohio State) that he overthrew 2 wide open receivers in the end zone. If not - would have been a win. Whatever - DR had a better Frosh season because they went to the Monster Lawn Mower Pinstripe Bowl. AM was an outstanding frosh…not so much the rest of his time in Lincoln.
So what in those stats (you didn’t include rushing) doesn’t favor AM? There are 22 players on a team. This years team went to a bowl game more from T Rob and Nash’s efforts than the QB. That’s my take.

He regressed because his body was increasingly beat to shit because of the physical abuse that comes with being a high use dual threat QB. He could have used an EJ and a Dowdell. Better individual season is irrelevant. One led the team to a bowl game and 7 wins, one didn't ever get to a bowl game as a Husker.
I think he will be a starter in the NFL. If I had a criticism at all (which would be very minor)…..I didn’t like him celebrating by himself by going to the crowd when the clock hit 0. Win as a team - celebrate as a team. No need to call attention to yourself. DR has a hell of an arm though. Future first round draft pick.

Another thing I saw out of DR was as he got fired and his team responded. Am never once had the tangible part of being the QB. And nit picking him celebrating with the fans after the first bowl game win in 8 years are people like you just looking for something to complain about. So weird
Lets compare the rushing yards of Tommie Frazier to David Humm or Jerry Taage.
Sure. But AM had similar passing yards, more passing TDs, less interceptions and a higher qb rating than DR as a frosh. Let’s compare those stats between Frazier and Humm and Tagge as well. What do you think they’d show?

It was a bad call IMO. Defender started the tackling process and Dylan slid. There was absolutely nothing the defender could do to avoid what happened next. My eyes are fine as is my football IQ.
