Your defense looks slow and tackling is poor.
Thanks, John Madden.
Your defense looks slow and tackling is poor.
Not playing with passion. Safety play and LB play has been sadWe aren't scoring with Fyfe either....put this half on the "Blackshirts."
Exactly. So what if our HC has .500 winning percentage over his 20-year career. Maybe year 21 is when he'll figure out how to win a championship?
Maybe Pelini sucked but do you think we are getting better?
Actually, Iowa is dominating an average football team. I'm sure that's what you meant though.
I apologize that nobody is taking your bait, we're to busy hurling our own insults.Your defense looks slow and tackling is poor.
If Fyfe can't throw then I agree, I thought he hurt the other hand.I'm fairly certain I spelled out why they can't take him out. Our QB depth is horrendous and undertalented. Until 2017.
I'm calling BS. If Darlington played you'd be kicking and screaming that Riley is risking the health (life) of Darlington given his concussion hostory.Zac darlington. Healthy and hungry to win. But a hurt sucky stat rat is our best option, riiiight.......
I certainly don't. Blowouts, poor tackling, poor offense, losing to teams we shouldn't lose to, etc.Maybe Pelini sucked but do you think we are getting better?
Who says it better than Jason Peter?
tommy?
You really don't think the coaches point this out when they're watching film? He's a poor decision maker. If he's completely unwilling or unable to go through his progression, it's not on the coaches. In a perfect world he'd be benched. In this world, benching him would mean benching him for a walk on who is only moderately better..and makes us one dimensional. And is playing with a broken hand today. Literally the only thing they could do to correct it at this point, is stop running deep routes and they can't do that, or the underneath guys would never be open.
Next year, if we're doing this crap, then yes, you can blame these coaches. This year, you blame Pelini for shitty recruiting and you blame the guy who makes the wrong decision almost every single play.
I don't see any improvement from game 1 this year. We seem to always be playing for next year, there are a lot of freshman playing these days, but most of ours aren't improving.Short answer, yes.
Longer answer, hell yes. this team has no offensive game changers on offense. they have no top of the line talent on defense.
the fact that they've coaxed 9 wins out of this team and are an overtime pick from 10 wins with one against Wisconsin is a testament to the team getting better.
Iowa has gotten four plays all game that worked. Unfortunately, 3 of them were HUGE. It''s not like Iowa is doing whatever they want and we have no answer. They've recognized we have very little talent in the front seven. Our strength is our secondary and Iowa has taken them out of the game.
People who blame the defensive coordinator for games like this either don't understand football, or are being overly emotional.
You don't have to bench a kid for good. One half during an early game during the season would do the trick. "Do it our way or you don't play" should be what is said. Or is that not very nice of CMR to say?tommy?

Based on the record alone , this staff is no better than the prior one. You are asking people to be satisfied with a participation trophy. Maybe that is part of the problem. Fans who demand better are NOT the problem.Who the F are they supposed to start? God you people are so f'ing stupid. You wanna put Fyfe in? Because you same morons were tearing him down just a few weeks ago. We looked serviceable against Maryland but terrible against Ohio state while tommy did ok. Now guess what? He's in a f'ing cast. Which means one hand on the ball at all times. If he gets hit, he's going to fumble. We have nothing! We have no depth and lots of injuries. It's the reality of the situation. It sucks but don't go looking to blame a staff that has turned a lot of thing around this year when we weren't even supposed to contend for the division. This place is nearly intolerable when the Reilly haters taste blood. Quit hating, recognize and appreciate how much better this year was than last, and be a little optimistic about things.

Teams improve as the year goes on, or did you not know that?Iowa has lost 4 games and by no means are they an above average team.
Hopefully we to away from that sissy rugby tackling too...play some damn football.
That style is the hottest in football; Carroll and Saban both teach it. So does Florida.
Make the damn play, it's not the tackling style that's hurting us.
Leaving for feet to make a tackle gets you run over
Need to channel Miami game at this point - miracle time
