Clarity…

The whole “MJ named interim coach and turns around Nebraska season” would have been fun. And along the way there were glimmers of hope, at least for me, that he could be the guy.

Truth is, I think he did exactly what he was supposed to do. He kept the kids engaged and playing hard. He made some coaching changes and we saw some improvements on defense. He kept fans in the stadium.

Mickey isn’t a head coach. The fact that he made some (maybe even a lot) people believe, both fans and kids, is rather remarkable.

I hope we can appreciate the job he has done to keep the ship above water. Now it is time to name a captain.
