Mental Health Awareness Month isn’t until May, but it should be acknowledged every day.

This week we lost a member of our management team to suicide. 36 years old, 3 kids. Tragic.

Baseball Live Thread BSB FINAL: San Diego 5, Nebraska 3

We're about 25 minutes out from Nebraska (0-1) taking on San Diego (1-0) in game two of four this weekend out in California. Huskers look to bounce back after some ill timed errors late in the game last night and not taking full advantage of the amount of free passes the Toreros dished out. Here's the recap from last night in case you missed it.

Tonight marks the first Husker start for Wichita State transfer Jace Kaminska who looks to get Nebraska's first win of the season.

RHP Jace Kaminska (3-9, 5.49 ERA) vs. RHP Garrett Rennie (2-4, 4.01)

Expect to see some good stuff from Rennie tonight. He was one of the starters last season that helped San Diego reach the NCAA Tournament. They're hoping to get more than three innings like starter James Sashin went last night.

Baseball Live Thread FINAL: San Diego 7, Nebraska 3

Here we are folks, for the first time in 272 days, Nebraska baseball will play a game.

Tonight - Game 1 of 55 - the Huskers face San Diego to begin a four-game series.

It's LHP Emmett Olson (3-3. 2.86 ERA) vs. RHP James Sashin (2-0, 5.26 ERA).

It's a late one as first pitch is set for 8 p.m. Additionally, earlier tonight it was confirmed that pitchers Chandler Benson and Northeast CC transfer Matt Dreher are no longer with the project. With the season-ending injuries to Cayden Brumbaugh, Trey Frahm and Hayden Lewis, the Huskers are at the 39-man roster limit.

Football Relationships keep growing as Matt Rhule and Co. are a hit at LFCA clinic

Matt Rhule and members of his staff were at the first Lincoln Football Coaches Association clinic of the year on Wednesday. I had a good talk with LFCA president Mark Waller about it.

“It was good to just kind of get in a relaxed atmosphere and visit with those guys.”

Basketball WBB: Nebraska vs. No. 7 Iowa

I'm back at PBA this afternoon as Nebraska (14-12, 6-9) looks to keep any chance of making the NCAA Tournament alive against the Hawkeyes (21-5, 13-2). It's a special Saturday in Lincoln as it's the annual Pack PBA Event for Play4Kay Day. Over 12,000 tickets have been sold going into the game which would mark a PBA WBB attendance record as the previous record being 9,750 fans at the first game at PBA in 2013.

The Huskers are looking to bounce back after a last-second 95-92 defeat to Minnesota on Wednesday. Iowa has won 10 of its last 11 games with its only loss being to No. 2 Indiana. National Player-of-the-Year candidate Caitlin Clark leads the Hawkeyes by averaging over 27 PPG and 8.3 assists. She scored 33 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists in a 80-76 win over Nebraska on Jan. 28.

Iowa has won the last seven meetings between the two schools. You can watch along on BTN with Mike Hall and Brenda VanLengen on the call.
