Basketball ***Live Game Thread: Nebraska at Penn State

Starting up the live game thread for today's game at Penn State. Tipoff at the Bryce Jordan Center is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and the game will be shown on BTN with Ed Cohen and Shon Morris on the call.

Outside of Berke Büyüktuncel (ankle), it's a clean availability report for Nebraska, which doesn't list anyone else as out or questionable.

The lone name on Penn State's availability report is Puff Johnson, who this week head coach Mike Rhoades confirmed is out for the season. Johnson hasn't played since injuring his wrist/hand on Jan. 15. Another Penn State player who's out for the season with an injury is former Nebraska guard Eli Rice. Rice played in just one game this season.

Here's some pregame reading while we wait:

OT - Replacing garage doors

I've lived in my house for 18 years and didn't get the impression that my garage doors were anything new when I bought my house. Anyway, I tried putting some weather stripping on the bottom because I have a small gap in one corner from when my wife backed out of the garage before the garage was all the way up and gave the garage door a bit of a love tap, slightly bent, but not even noticeable unless you're a foot away.

There are 3 bedrooms above the double garage now including our primary bedroom, my son's room, and the office. I was quoted $3250 by Norm's Garage Door for a full replacement of both garage doors and new rails and keeping my same Chamberlain automatic door openers. That seemed like an OK price for me. I had a single garage door replaced at a rental property about 8 years ago and it was about $900. I also know that Norm's is very reputable and provide good service. I've had them out a couple times for service on my garage doors and they also did a good job with my rental single door replacement years ago.

My fear is that a mouse got into the opening that's about 9 inches long and a half inch wide. I caught the mouse, but don't want it happening again. A few questions I have:

1. Is $3250 a fair price for 2 standard size steel garage doors with R-13 rating?
2. Will I be able to actually feel the difference with less cold air and draft entering the garage with new doors assuming good installation?
3. Is there a more cost-effective way than full replacement that I haven't thought of? I tried adding more stripping at the bottom, but didn't work

The sales guy at Norm's was very friendly and he pointed out several small gaps where cold air is getting through. I was hoping for some sort of ah-ha moment where he told me "these old doors are garage and they're made way better now" but that wasn't the case. The current doors are steel and are insulated with foam and the new doors would use poly and be R-13 (allegedly) I think some of the "efficiency" ratings out there are more or less a scam, but not sure if that includes garage doors - the proposed doors I'd be buying are very basic, white, in stock, probably middle of the line.

I'm good with getting them replaced, but always think through expenses like this before pulling the trigger and search out people with more experience than me. I'm a very cheap guy as many of you know...

TIA
