OT: Beaches Around Tampa, FL Help

Essentially, I can get my family from San Antonio where we live to Tampa on a direct flight with no out of pocket cost…so our vacation this year will be in that area..,

I’ve never been to that part of Florida and don’t know any of the beaches or which hotels/resorts are worth it, so any advise is very appreciated!

The only place I’ve looked hard at so far is the Trade Winds Resorts. We have 4 & 7 year old boys so hotels with amenities tend to suit us better than an Air BnB.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Baseball Live Thread BSB FINAL: Nebraska 8, Northwestern 3

Here at Haymarket Park for game 31 of the season for Nebraska (18-11-1) who looks to get back on track as they take on Northwestern (5-22) to get back into Big Ten play. It hasn't been a great week for the Huskers who lost to in-state rival Omaha 6-5 in 10 innings on Tuesday at Hawks Field. It clinched the season series for the Mavericks who did so over Nebraska for the firs time since moving up to Division I. The Huskers have a great opportunity to bounce back against a Wildcat team that has a pitching staff ranked 281st in the country in team ERA and has the second-worst offense in the conference.

Today it'll be LHP Emmett Olson (5-1, 3.04 ERA, 50.1 IP) vs. RHP Matt McClure (1-4, 6.53 ERA) in the pitching matchup. Olson is coming off his best career start last week against Michigan when he went 7.2 IP allowing one run on two hits with eight strikeouts. He'll face a pitcher in McClure who's stepped it up in his last four starts with a 3.68 ERA in the last 22 innings. Here's the full series preview to get you ready for the weekend.

Football Taking a look back at all four open practice periods: Some final thoughts & notes

Wanted to take a look back at all four open practice periods for some final overarching notes and observations leading up to the finale of spring ball April 22. Included are:

>>> What I've noticed from the coaching staff and the balance they've displayed.

>>> Rob Dvoracek teaching his LBs and having their attention.

>>> The overanalyzed moment between E.J. Barthel and Ajay Allen during the first open period March 23.

>>> Some thoughts on Princewill Umanmielen, who looks damn good athletically and physically, and another young defensive piece who has looked good in Cameron Lenhardt.

Daniel Kaelin visiting USC this weekend

USC’s big Jr Day event is this weekend and they are hoasting a couple QB’s including Kaelin. My guess is they get one on the hook and try to get DR to cancel his visit to us or they accept the commit.

New Air Conditioner

Anybody have a new A/C unit installed in Omaha, Ne in the recent past? Our unit was going out last year (19 years old now) and were told it's about toast. We got McCarthy coming out next week for an estimate, but we want to get a couple more estimates at least. Was wondering if somebody can recommend someone they went through and were happy with.

Thanks Jack,

Very Difficult Day..........

Today was a day I have dreaded for a while, and have seen many of you go through the same. Today, I put my best friend down.....she was a great dog, she came to work with me almost every day for 11 years. I swear.....this is harder than losing people, if anything can break a man down to tears, it's losing "mans best friend". Her poor little body was broken and for the last three years, I helped her walk with a handle on her harness and she went through it all like a champ, just happy to be everywhere I was....but today, she runs free and without pain at last. Recruiting Unlimited official visits for prospects starting in July

New NCAA rule was passed today:

Official visits

The council adopted new recruiting rules for official and unofficial visits. Moving forward, prospects will no longer have a limit to the number of official visits they can make to NCAA member schools. Prospects will be limited to one official visit per school, unless there is a head coaching change after an official visit, in which case prospects would be able to complete a second official visit to the same school. In men's basketball, prospects still will be able to complete a second official visit to the same school provided the visits do not occur in the same academic year.

"For young people considering where to go to college, visits to campus — both official and unofficial — are an integral part of the decision-making process," Tealer said. "This was an opportunity to modernize NCAA rules in a way that provides greater and more meaningful opportunities for prospects going through the recruitment process."

Official visits may last no longer than a two-night stay, during which schools will be permitted to cover travel costs, transportation, meals and reasonable entertainment for up to two family members accompanying a prospect on that visit.

The rules will take effect July 1.

2022 Northwestern Football: 1 win, 4 NFL Draft Picks

A bunch of NFL mock drafts have 4 Northwestern players getting drafted, including two players in the top 40 picks:

OT Peter Skoronski - likely top 10 pick in 1st Round.
DE Adetomiwa Ademoware - mid 2nd Round pick
CB Cameron Mitchell - 4th to 5th round pick
RB - Evan Hull - 5th to 6th round - HBack/ Fullback role

This is 4 NFL draft picks for a team that finished 1-11.

Other total projected draft picks from Big Ten West:

Illinois - 5
Iowa - 5
Minnesota - 4
Purdue - 3
Wisconsin - 3
Nebraska - 2

Draft picks don't always equal wins, just ask Miami or Florida State. But, if you handful of future NFL players on both sides of the football, you should absolutely be able to win more than one game. And just think, if Frost was even remotely competent, Northwestern would've finished 0-12.
