You can offer a ton in NIL, but Nebraska also isn't the name like most of these. It's not crazy that it takes a bit more creativity. One year of getting to an NCAA tournament with a team that was on a 10 year drought isn't exactly any more appealing than most places.
We might get him, but he got beat out by Wilhelm Breidenbach at Washington and is injury prone, so that is concerning....but he could at least provide some depth and athleticism in the front court and a big body for practice. Other than Juwan Gary, next year's roster is really lacking in athleticism.
They are not even close to the same player. One is a rim protector and the other is a finesse player that has a good stroke
Meah was really solid for UW in 2022-23, before his ankle injury. If he returns to that form, this is a big pickup.
Mast will love playing with Meah. He won’t get in foul trouble nearly as much trying to guard guys who outweigh him by 50 pounds.
The two aren’t related. Mast could still go but we needed another big even if he stays.
Looks like he's in there for D, rebounding, and put backs. We should have enough guys that can score, so that should work for us.
Started 47 games and only averaging 5.5 pts while shooting 77%???? Didn't shoot much evidently
I was a fan of Lawrence and wish he had stayed. But if Meah, Worster and Essegian are healthy, the roster has improved a couple of notches. All three dealt with injuries last year so that's a big "if," but they each fill some big needs.
This is a gift for Mast. A really big one.
Basically all of his points were from dunks. He doesn't shoot the ball. His role is to rebound and protect the rim.
I think we struck out big time in the portal, only the Rutgers transfer excites me the rest are back up level talent. VERY disappointing recruiting.
I honestly don’t know- it’s great if you recruit over and improve the roster. Is it an NIL issue or just the program as a whole?
If we want the tune to change, we have to stop playing the record of having never won a single NCAA tournament game. Had a chance this last year, but the result was the same as it ever was.
He can play strong Forward.which would be better for him..
Well before they were injured, Meah started at Washington, Essegian started at Wisconsin and Worster started at Utah. So they're probably backup-level talent in some programs, but I don't think NU is one of them.
I'm not blown away by the players Fred got in the portal, but they fill some glaring needs on his roster.
Fred is bringing in a lot of guys with histories of being injury-prone. If they are all healthy next year, we can be a good team. If not, it will be ugly. There are rumors too that Mast might have surgery that will keep him out next year. So I would still like to see us add another big man.
We got at least 2 guys better than the guys they’re replacing. Allick played better than most thought he would. The guys from Rutgers and Wisconsin have really high ceilings and Worster is an experienced solid player who is a better defender than Kesei. The North Dakota kid might be a wash for Allick. Another true point guard would have been a bonus.

With the Ws we had over ranked teams we got screwed with our seed IMO.
I count two wins over ranked teams. One was huge, over Purdue. But Wisconsin proceeded to sink like a stone.
If you want to change the narrative, you just have to win a damn tournament game. The matchup doesn’t matter, just go beat somebody. But, never done that.
We have to go Eugene and play on the God awful court of their that look like your in a forest of some kind.
