I know threads have been out there before with the same question but I can't locate.
Who is the best in the area? Looking to get a yellow lab. I don't hunt, will strictly be a family dog for the kids. With that said, I love having hunting attributes within any of my labs as we love taking them to lakes, retrieve, and even swim in our backyard pool. Our current lab is an English lab and although she has an outstanding demeanor and behavior, she has never liked the water or had that drive to retrieve. Being a family dog, we never thought that was an important attribute for our lab, but coming from our previous lab who loved doing that we realized how much we missed it.
