Xfer QB visit

we need a qb with at least a martinez (adrian) arm...(minus turnovers)
with better play outta the lines and rb's it will work.

I mean unless rules is gonna run dr. tom's offense

That was fun to watch, it's obvious why Rhule wants him given his developmental approach. You can't coach speed, I'd take this guy any day - if he doesn't develop into an adequate passer I'm sure they can find a place for him.
If he’s as athletic as it sounds and isn’t afraid to hit he could make A LOT of money playing CB.

World herald says he sees himself as a full time qb and so does rhule. Maybe he won’t start but he’d be insurance if CT goes down.
Would just have to tailor your offense to what he does best. Michigans other backup QB just entered the portal too

One other thing people are missing is I don't think Arkansas has done shit for helping develop their qb's. KJ Jefferson is talented, but one of the most undisciplined qb's I've ever seen. If we bring in a good qb coach that can develop, Hornsby might turn into a much better passing qb than we think, and with how dangerous he is with his feet, the sky is the limit for how good he can be. People are writing him off already as just another Smothers, and I don't see that at all honestly.

He has two years left. How fast do you think a coach “develop” him in to a good passer? 😂

He’s just not that great. I’m sorry. That’s just the way it is. Something’s will never change

He's basically a high probability transfer in for Rhule. If things don't work out at QB, nothing risked because then he'll easily find another role on the team to utilize his speed. And I think there is a very good chance he commits to Nebraska on or shortly after the visit. Nebraska is his first and only scheduled visit and he already likes Rhule before visiting.

Watching the Niners tonight I can’t help but wonder what Luke could have done in an option based offense without Granpa Potter.

From Hornsby's trainer, J.P. Tillman, in a story by Evan Bland:

The plan right now, Tillman said, would be for Hornsby to come “alongside” Nebraska’s 2022 starter, Casey Thompson, who has one more season of eligibility but whose spring status is unknown coming off shoulder surgery. Hornsby has three years to play two — in theory he could redshirt next year and be full go for 2024 and 2025.

“Malik coming in there is more about the future of Nebraska,” Tillman said. “Casey has one more year. Right now we want to get on the field and get plays and start getting used to the offense. Right now Nebraska is very high on his list.”

This would be some good news.

He doesn't have to be a great passer. Im starting to come around on this kid being the QB. He could actually be the best guy for the job right now to get us some wins. This kind of athletic freak could really help our line out. Remember the Auburn squad that almost won the title against FSU? The QB was not a good passer, but was dynamite with the RPO because he could fly.

I’ve said all year that a run threat by your QB is a huge help to your offense. CT could have helped his O line out this past year by scrambling more often. Using more RPO stuff with a very athletic QB puts tremendous pressure on a defense.

He seems to have the tools to run a lot of rpo (although I'm sure teams will load the box begging for him to pass). The key is does he have the football IQ to do it. Some guys seem to have it and other guys seem to always be unsure. (I loved TMart and think he could have been a Nebraska legend except he always seemed to make the wrong reads on the zone reads. I know the RPO is different than a zone read but still comes down to a qb making the right decision.)

If Hornsby can make the right decisions, he may have a chance to really help this team.

When you sit the bench it is hard to look like a diamond. Most QB's that sit need some time to acclimate to playing again. The starters get most of the reps. with the limited practice time. Let this play out and see what happens. Most B1G defenses struggle with mobile QB's...

TM was a horrible decision maker. Gifted athlete.

HS excerpt "Went 25-3 as the starting quarterback over his two years at the helm of the Buffalo offense, amassing over 5,000 yards of total offense with only four interceptions, two in each season" Pretty decent for the 2nd biggest class in Texas (I think)
