Xfer QB visit

Tommie Fraziers stats throwing the ball at the college level:

44/100 -> 44% 10/1 TD-INT
77/162 -> 47.5% 12/4 TD-INT
19/44 -> 43.2% 4/2 TD-INT
92/163 -> 56.4% 17/4 TD-INT

I figure if you can win a national championship and should have been a Heisman winner with those types of numbers, you can at least be "serviceable" as rushing QB with an approx 50% pass completion rate for a team that is in the midst of an epic rebuild.

Did Arkansas run Tom Osborne's offense? Is Rhule planning to run Osborne's offense? If not, this is irrelevant.

What am I missing here? In 3 seasons his total stats are

18-39 (46% completion) for 314 yards. I TD, 2 INTs. I don't see much to be excited about.
In three seasons? So he has one left? Also, I'm guessing those stats are from garbage time which makes them even worse.

**Edit I was wrong on all accounts per usual. Two years left to play. Most of his yards and passes came in one game against Miss. State in which Arky had it's doors blown off.

I agree with the others that he may not necessarily be a qb but could be brought in as an athlete.

You’ve really gotten to be a Debbie Downer. Don’t worry. Be happy mon.

I just give my honest opinions, how others perceive them is not my business.

I'm just telling you that Arkansas fans say that while he's a great athlete, he's an absolutely terrible QB. Hopefully Rhule will try to convert him to WR or just use him as a Wildcat QB. Because if this is the only new QB he brings in this year, we're in for some rough times.

Malik Hornsby from Arkansas. Known as a very good runner.
I watched the LSU game because I put a little on LSU and Hornsby wasn’t a very good passer and there was a big drop off between him and KJ Jefferson..

At the end of the the 3rd stringer was in and lead them on a scoring drive..
I like Jeff Sims better..

I know nothing about the kid, but is anyone paying attention to what Rhule has a history of doing? 1. Recruiting big, fast players, and 2. developing them into a role that best uses their skills. This kid fits the mold perfectly and I'd love to see what Rhule would do with him.

I’m open to an option QB. Tommy Armstrong and TM weren’t accurate passers either and yet they had no problem getting us to a bowl game. My suspicion is they want this kid as an athlete. He could play corner or WR and jump in the backfield. LOTS of options.

I hope we move past run-first QB's.

They invariably get hurt, and when their legs are less than 100%, and they have to rely on passing the football, the offense gets poleaxed for the remainder of the season.

See: Taylor Martinez' last couple seasons here

See: Every season Adrian Martinez was here

We recruit skill players for a reason. Let them do what they're here to do: carry the ball.

Think this guy is probably a freak athlete; hopefully if he comes here, he's used in a role that's not QB.

A developmental guy who may not end up being a QB. Rhule may just want him as an "athlete" with a big upside to play almost any skill position on offense and defense.
1 minute you're running passing drills, the next minute after practice the coach has you running a couple routes 'just for fun'. Hey, you look good out there.

They get hurt... Like our QB this past season who all but refused to scramble? Right...

Best friend is a Razorback fan and Hog fans happy to see this kid go. Watched him many times. Mississippi State game was probably his most action. The Logan Smoothers 2.0 reference is exactly what this kid is. Hog fans reference him as a gimmick QB. Will come out hot but easily adjusted to defend. LSU didn’t have trouble with him from the tape they saw from him via the MSU game

Not the answer with I believe only 2 years left to play 2. He needs a lot of work and not worth at best 1 year worth of PT. Satterfield saw him a little earlier this year but on gimmick crap.

Logan Smothers can actually be very productive with good coaching. More time with Whipple would turned him into great QB. Unfortunately Whipple never spent the time or effort to invest in the kid

Yeah, I agree with you here. I recommend moving forward with the QBs on the roster, with Richie Torres and Haarburg transfering
Ha, the QBs currently on the roster are smart enough NOT to enter the portal because they might not find a new home to their liking. Torres is an unknown but Haarburg and Smothers likely would have some difficulty attracting attention from P5 schools.

Both extremely young with strong arms. Worth keeping and hoping a QB can come in and work with them. The need for a QB coach was obvious last year. Not blaming whip but you can’t work with that many guys and still game plan for the total offense.

In Taylor's second to last season, he completed 62% of his passes for almost 2900 yards, threw 23 TDs vs 12 INTs while running for an additional 1000 yards and 10 more TDs.

We wouldn't take that right now or any year since?

Sure, as long as you realize that in his last year you will get 4 Games played, 40 rushes for 117 yards, 2.9 ypc.

The biggest flaw we have as posters is pegging recruits and coaches for that matter into roles they will have at Nebraska. I have no idea and neither does anyone on this board what Matt Rhule and staff are thinking when offering certain recruits and coaches for that matter.

What we do is guess and speculate and that's O.K. Let's see if we can get this kid to sign and then let's see what Matt Rhule and coaches want to do with the kid. Obviously coach Rhule and company have a plan, it just may not be yours.

And TMart was first team All Big 10 that year. Can you imagine the backflips we would be doing if we were to have an All Big 10 QB now?

SEC fans are idiots. Really don't care what they think.

He’s faster than Smothers but we still need a better passer, that is why I hope Casey comes back for 2023..

Walking in traffic vs walking in the crosswalk. You can get hit by a car either way, but one sort of puts you at a greater risk. No?
Idk... Mobile qbs who consciously run (gameplanned with coaches schemes) can better protect themselves against known hazards more intentionally. Compared to guys standing the pocket with their awareness placed mostly down field who then get blindsided and creamed.

But I've never played QB, but that's how I'd approach it if possible. One you can control your part in it more than the other...

I guess. When I look at the injury history of Nebraska QBs dating back to Callahan, there have only been 3 seasons where a mobile QB played in every game.

I say keep those 2 unknowns and send the known losers (smothers/purdy) packing

those kids have shown all they need for everybody on planet earth to know they can't hack it. ever.
