I wonder what that means/implies about the other QB who visited this past weekend? Coaches think he's not likely to come to Nebraska? Or are they trying to put a little pressure on him?

Here's an article on the QB who has a prior relationship with Rhule:

What am I missing here? In 3 seasons his total stats are

18-39 (46% completion) for 314 yards. I TD, 2 INTs. I don't see much to be excited about.
What's missing are his high school stats and the fact that he didn't get a chance to play much behind the starter at Arkansas. Rhule wanted him before at Baylor before Rhule left for Carolina. Here's an excerpt from the Link I included in my earlier post:

"The 6-foot-2, 186-pound Hornsby is a legitimate track star. He’s a sub-11-second runner in the 100-meter dash and pairs that with a strong arm and high school production that saw him toss 52 touchdowns against just 4 INTs in his final two seasons in Texas."

There’s yer sign. I figured at some point Rhule was going to get some transfers that he was recruiting for Baylor.

Sounds like he might make a decent receiver then. But his passing stats are atrocious. Did we not learn anything from the two Martinezes? QBs need to be able to throw.

That's an awfully small sample size amounting to only basically one complete game. Any how I trust Rhule studied the whole situation high school/college combined and knows more than the rest of us.
Mop up time with backups.

What about his actual stats at the college level?

18-39, 1 TD, 2 INTs
Tommie Fraziers stats throwing the ball at the college level:

44/100 -> 44% 10/1 TD-INT
77/162 -> 47.5% 12/4 TD-INT
19/44 -> 43.2% 4/2 TD-INT
92/163 -> 56.4% 17/4 TD-INT

I figure if you can win a national championship and should have been a Heisman winner with those types of numbers, you can at least be "serviceable" as rushing QB with an approx 50% pass completion rate for a team that is in the midst of an epic rebuild.

People will lose their mind when Rhule rolls out Tom’s option offense in the spring game complete with a fullback…,,,

That's all you needed with option fb with great rbs and killer o line. Might take some lumps

I trust Rhule but don’t we have this guy already on the roster with Smothers?
💯 yes , my guess they are wanting another Smothers type to compete with him and CT can hit the door. Sims and this guy are both 2020 guys that came out same time Smothers did.

He'd fit in about perfectly with our track record of transfers and recruits at that position.

I watched his start vs LSU. They had to bench him for the 3rd stringer, who at least gave them a chance. He's raw to say the least as a passer.
He hasn't been practicing qb all year. He's been playing a different position. It's a tough ask to bring him in and I think he looked a lot better last year when he was actually playing the position.

no, it was a lot of injury fill-in duty plus some gadget stuff

I watched way too much Arkansas this year

everyone in the SEC knew about this kid & keyed on his legs when in there - a feather in his cap, if you ask me. very clear teams prepped for him as the season wore on.

He's very fast and good to be a WR a la Luke MacCaffrey, but depends on what Rhule and the OC finalize getting him to commit.
