evidently after the game while walking off the field Lewis was blowing kisses and waving at Husker fans and saying : "Sorry we suck!" Sean Callahan on his twitter page has confirmed this. If this is true then Mike Riley needs to sit down with Alex and ask him if he wants to be part of this team. For goodness sake Lewis is a team captain. Brutal.

Maybe, he is now "done playing for Nebraska."

Disagree, Riley needs to kick him off the team.

The real problem is not Alex Lewis, the real problem is we don't know how to win a game with 55 seconds left, the ball, and a 6 point lead against a bad team.

That is a problem, gentlemen.

If true, Alex should be off the team, or sat for a long long long long time!

well, this a**clown did have to do a stint in jail for being an a**clown, the ONLY reason anyone cared is because we THOUGHT he would be good, but he isn't, he is mediocre and along with his PATHETIC emotional stability, needs to go away.

This boy needs to be shown the door, Riley needs to give all these kids a talking to and let them know that if they don't want to be here, they need to leave because they are wasting their own and more importantly this institution's time.

I am very angry that we suck as bad as we do. But since it is Riley's first year, I will let a few losses like this slide and cut him some slack. I will not, however, support Riley or the program as long as Lewis is a member of the team, let alone a captain. If he does not kick him off the team after this (after ALL Lewis has done beforehand) then that tells me all I need to know about Riley and I don't want him.

Maybe he will go out and beat up another army guy. That's something he is proud of.
Pretty sure it was an air force guy... and while alex is prolly pretty crappy i wouldnt judge him based on that.

Lewis needs to be dismissed from the team. And yes it is a very strong statement that i totally agree with.

It appears Alex has some emotional issues. He is a remaining Bo Cancer. And while Alex exhibits it publicly, there are likely other players feeling the same way. They didn't sign up for a Riley regime. They don't like the Husker Nation. And no doubt with this loss there will be a small portion or NU fans that will reinforce this in their opinion. So there is a lack of family and heart on this team. We are seeing the guys that are not struggling with this step up. Weber, Janovich, and probably more that I am not recalling. The guys that don't want to be there shouldn't play. And I think we're seeing that a little bit more each week as the coaches see it through the efforts that are being put forth.

There's a lot more to this disaster season than the norm. Change is tough and not everyone responds to it well. Most players are in different phases of the change cycle. May require a psychologist or a change management expert to work through this with the team. (like we have time for that) But the quicker people move through the phases the better. Like it or not parts of this team still reflects the shadow of Bo.

Lewis is a very convenient scapegoat, but in reality he hasn't lost us a single game this year. I'm not happy with his act, but people are piling on because he's an easy target. People can't bring themselves to admit TA may not be what they thought, and or the MR hire may have been a colossal mistake, so here's Lewis being served up on a large silver platter as your reason for NU's struggles and to help get your mind(s) off the real issues.

This is eerily similar to the 2007 season. Players just not caring.

Bring in Frost. Now.

I'm willing to gamble with Frost, than continue with whatever it is that we have for a coaching staff.

Lewis is making himself an easy target. If he doesn't go off on twitter or pull his last stunt then no one would say a thing about him.

Also it's impossible to know whether he's lost us a single game or not. Maybe if he doesn't have that one false start or holding penalty that stalls a drive but instead we get points. I know I'm talking about "what ifs" but it is possible that Lewis (and everyone else on the team) has cost us points by playing poorly.

I don't think anyone is overlooking any of that, but MR and TA also aren't trying to antagonize a fan base into a fist-fight by acting like a petulant 2 year old either.

Speaking of, when are they escorting that waste of space off campus? MR and/or the Ath Dept need to put out a statement soon, or it's time to posse up. You've given us the middle finger twice in 5 games while you enjoy a free ride and all the perks of being a Husker. It's time to go....

The one thing we don't do is start playing for next year. We pull out all the stops to win every remaining game. Radical steps. Install a real ground game. Rid ourselves of negativity (Lewis) and pass the baton to guys with heart like AJ and Webber to lead with their humble example.

I got no problem if they boot him off the team, but we're still 2-3 with or without him.

This guy shouldn't have been allowed on the team in the first place. He's certainly handled his (undeserved) second chance less than gracefully. At least he's providing entertainment value while making a fool of himself.

In a nut shell this is why we are traveling with 25 walk-ons. Riley is doing what he can but he's got to be smarter himself. Now we have two losses because of direct mismanagement of the play clock. If Riley keeps Lewis on the team after a second incident then maybe he is too nice as others have said. I love Tommy but as a coach i would think you have to be more direct with your quarterback. Especially if he was a part of the clock problems that directly resulted in the BYU loss. Riley needs to correct these problems and Lewis is at the top of the list. No more mister nice guy.

The Truth Hurts ! Good for him to say it! Kick him off the team? You must be kidding?

Are you finally coming around to the fact that your predictions and optimism were misguided? Please say yes.
