Would A Bowl Game Fix All?

The reason I ask this question is because for years now the narrative has been pushed that all NU has to do is reach that mythical 6th win. And if this goal is reached all are problems will go away and we will continue to climb in an upward trajectory.

For better or for worse, I think we’re stuck with him for 2 more seasons minimum…I don’t think we can afford the buyout
Can Nebraska afford his buyout? Absolutely

Would it be financially irresponsible to fire him and buy him out? Absolutely.

2025 alcohol sales will be more than his buyout.

Would eking out one more win regain your confidence in Rhule? Or do you see the same mistakes being made regardless next year?
Getting to a Bowl would be HUGE! ANY BOWL GAME! It is good for the players, the coaches, the program, and for the Fan Base!

Why? We have been to one in since 2016 and these players need the extra practice. Ending the Bowl drought is huge!

He's not going anywhere for a couple years. NU has been rightly drilled by the press due to our lack of doing anything in terms of winning.

The PR would be brutal that NU didn't even give him a chance to show his Year 3 magic again......

But would a bowl bid make you confident that the team will win 8 or 9 next year? Another way to put it is, does a bowl bid automatically guarantee more future success next year and the years after that?

A bowl game wouldn't fix all but NOT making a bowl this year, and losing out in a worse fashion than last year, is not going to go over well.

So much that ails this program is between the ears. Psychologically getting to a Bowl would be huge mental hurdle. I think the influx of younger players not accustomed to losing will help this program to get more wins

It would put Rhule on par with his track record.

I don't know why you would hire a guy expecting him to beat his track record. Should not have hired him in the first place if you expected anything other than what he has accomplished before, it would be nonsensical, and that would be a you problem, not the guy who is just doing what he already has been doing since his career began.

Rinse and repeat
NO THANK YOU
Thisvus the best recruiting we have had in 10 years.
Not fake recruiting real recruiting
This will be Rhule first real recruiting cycle

Don’t disagree with that logic at all. When we hired Riley why would anyone expect more than up and down years.

Does anyone seriously think we can beat Wisc or Iowa? There is no indication on any sensible level that this could happen. We’d **** up making a ham sandwich.

I don’t believe we will beat either. What I’m questioning is the narrative of the mythical sixth win. I think it’s a false, short sighted narrative that guarantees nothing going forward.

Yes you are probably right so let's tell the players to just forfeit so all can be I hold you i told you I told you I was right I was right
How about let's see where this goes before jumping for joy that we lost and we were right so it makes us feel so much better.i am not living on blind faith I am going to believe it can happen until it doesn't. Yes I have that right just like you want to be negative
1 of us will be right. Wouldn't it be good for players coaches fans and the program if we win? Just a thought

I think the staff is too fixed on making a bowl game and is affecting their decision making process. Players that are not performing still get game time because of it. Time to make changes for the betterment of the program.
You might be on to something
Sometimes our minds can mess with our true thinking

I have never read anything like this.

I don’t think there is anything mythical about a sixth win but with the program fallen so much, getting a sixth win is what it takes to become Bowl Eligible.

This is a baby step to getting back to respectability. It doesn’t guarantee 7-8 wins the following year but it is a definitely a step forward. I think going to a bowl every year should be one of the goals for any program.
