Wisconsin prediction thread

Wis stuffs the run forces Tommie to pass set, game, match This is a classic, strength vs weakness . The best d will win going to be fun to watch Wis has no margin for error it will be a slobber nocker.

Really wish this game wasnt the same time as game 4 of the Series....Will have to watch the football game on the laptop an hour in

key to this game will be a healthy Ozigbo and Westercamp.

With Ozigbo, , Nothing is being said about his ability to play.

Newby is simply not big enough physically to pound any one. Our line is not going to push wisky around.

Westercamp changes the dynamics of our pass offense, his route running and speed cause teams to pay a lot of attention to him, which allows receivers to get open.

If they can't play , we lose big. Wisky 24-10
Wis lines up with every man on the O line 6'6" and 300+ a lot of pork to move for 4 quarters

This one is a tough one.

Wisky: Freshman QB that has less than impressive stats. Two starting LBers our and their stud giant NT is out.

Nebraska: Missing Carter and a banged up OL

I don't like the NU is the higher ranked team but I do like that they are sort of a big dog. I think that plays into Riley's hands a bit more as being the underdog.

With that said...I am not ready to give my prediction just yet.

Night game on the road in a rowdy Camp Randall? They didn't pull off the win against Ohio State, and they won't against us. Tommy Armstrong channels his inner JT Barrett. Gonna be a dogfight, but we win turnover battle by 1 and win in the 4th again. 24-23 Nebraska

Our defense wins it for us in a game that can go either way. 20 13 and banker finally gets credit.

I'm tired of being negative about this team. For some reason, I can't shake the feeling we go into the 4th quarter and find a way to win. I think we see Riley and Langsdorf open up the playbook and show some things we haven't seen all season. I can see Tommy having a big game at least yardage wise. Yes, they've played a tougher schedule. Yes, we're banged up. But so are they. Can't wait to see this year's team go into Madison (Camp Randall is in Madison, right?) in primetime knowing they have a real shot at doing BIG things THIS year. I can see Gerry having a big game with an INT or two. Hope DPE continues to make plays. I have a feeling it's going to be a good one.

NU - 27
Wisc - 17

For Sam

We would have maybe had a chance with a healthy OLine. With a few guys with ankle issues on the OLine, we're going to struggle.

I watched the Wisconsin-Michigan and Wisconsin-Ohio State games last night...and Wisconsin is a decidedly better team than us. They are disciplined, whereas we make far too many mistakes.

Wisky - 35
NU - 20

It's Westerkamp and Tommy, not Westercamp and Tommie.

UW 31
NU 17

I haven't made a score prediction all year I don't think, because we've only had one real game in my mind that was worth spending any time to do it with, Oregon, and those two teams were so evenly matched I had no idea. Not going to start making and score predictions now, but will say I'm more than a little concerned about this game. Bad Tommy needs to stay home, as in don't get on the plane. Good Tommy is due for a breakout performance and Saturday is as good as any. I've seen nothing from this team this year to indicate we can go into Camp Randall and win this game, nonetheless, I picked us to finish 4-1 (with OSU being our only loss) in our last 5 so apparently I voted with my heart.

I watched the Wisconsin vs Georgia St and they both sucked. I watched the Michigan St game and they were average at best.

Watch what a team does in all games, not just the big games. Players and coaches are much more focused going into big games. When 2 good teams play each other, the level of play is elevated so teams look sharper.

We're all counting on that, because the team that struggled with Wyoming and Purdue won't beat Wisconsin. I think everyone agrees with you though, and it's a great point, and it's what I'm hanging my hat on.

Or...you could watch a game where Corey Clement actually played in the game. Really? Referencing a game where their most important player didn't even step on the field? That makes sense. C'mon man!

Or you could also notice that Wisconsin beat Michigan State 30-6. Hmmmmm.. Pretty tough to look average when you win by 24 over a team. Something tells me you didn't watch either game.

We still made multiple mistakes against Oregon, so I stand by my comment about us not being a disciplined team. And with the injuries, I see us really struggling with Wisconsin's LBs. Tommy is going to be running for his life.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see us getting out of there with a win.

Ha ha

Clement played against Michigan St he had 23 carries for 54 yards against a defense that allowed Northwestern to drop 55.

Wisconsin scored 4 touchdowns in the game. 1 defensive TD, a 5 yard drive, and a 28 yard drive.

They had 317 total yards, 8 less than the vaunted Michigan St offense. Only 15 first downs, 2 of them on 4th down conversions.

So while the score looked impressive, the game was decided by Michigan St mistakes not Wisconsin's offense.

So maybe it was you who didn't watch the game.

Secondly, are you really trying to tell me that Clemens is the reason Wisconsin struggled with a 2-5 Sun Belt team.

Puhlease.

Me thinks you didn't watch that game either.

Wisconsin gave up 14 points to LSU, 14 points to Michigan, 23 points to OSU (end of regulation), 9 points to Iowa (on the road.)

I think most any prediction that calls for Nebraska scoring more than 24 points seems to be wishful thinking. I would be thrilled with a 3-0 or 7-0 type game by halftime. To me, this is a game where you really can't beat yourself and just know that if you hang around it will be a one possession game in the fourth quarter where you take your chances.

I hate that Purdue had so much defensive success against Nebraska last weekend. It really doesn't give me much hope. I have a "hope for" prediction of Nebraska 17 - Wisconsin 13 and a "If I had to bet" prediction of Wisconsin 20 - Nebraska 10.

Think speed is a big factor in this game and have not heard anything about UW speed, NU advantage!

I'm enjoying hearing Nebraska's name on the national shows.....when they talk about playoffs and ranked teams.

Some fans are so silly......Mike n Mike hasn't talked about us in years.

Ok everyone, this game has already been discussed a lot on here. And now that we have an injury report from coach Riley (Westy, Knevel, Gates in, Carter out, Ozigbo?), we can let the predictions fly.

I am not buying the "overrated Nebraska vs. superman Wisconsin" narrative. Yes, camp Randall is a tough environment. But our QB has been in loud stadiums before and has been cool as a cucumber. I also think our guys feel disrespected and will be highly motivated.
Finally... Mike Riley is our coach, not Bo "defensive genius" Pelini
Nebraska 20
Wisconsin 17
I think the 2016 team has the right attitude. I hear a team that is focused and ready for a challenge. 27 - 24 Huskers with a little SF intervention.

TA in his fourth year as a starter vs their freshman with only a handful of starts ???

the choice is pretty obvious

Will TA have a few brain farts? No doubt. However, you can see that he has improved a lot over last year. Hopefully, his miscues won't lead to many turnovers. I say we beat Wisky because we are the better team, injuries and all. It won't be a blow out, but we will pull away in the 4th as we have all year.

I heard from Benning today that TA has a 37% completion percentage against Wisky lifetime. Hopefully he puts that behind him his senior year and kicks some ass in Camp Randall, be a great way for him to go out.

If only we had a serviceable O-line....

Wisconsin - 38

Nebraska - 17

I hope I'm wrong.
So you think THIS is the game Wisconsin scores more than 30 points (outside of Akron)?? I don't have a problem with picking Wisconsin to win the game, but I just don't see how a fairly average offense with little firepower is going to put up 38 against a pretty salty Husker D. Maybe if we give them 2 defensive scores.

As I stated before, it took 3 turnovers and 3 short fields for them to put up 30 against Michigan St.

I agree that Wisconsin may win, but I find it difficult to believe they will put up more than 21. IF Nebraska doesn't give them multiple short fields.
