Ok everyone, this game has already been discussed a lot on here. And now that we have an injury report from coach Riley (Westy, Knevel, Gates in, Carter out, Ozigbo?), we can let the predictions fly.

I am not buying the "overrated Nebraska vs. superman Wisconsin" narrative. Yes, camp Randall is a tough environment. But our QB has been in loud stadiums before and has been cool as a cucumber. I also think our guys feel disrespected and will be highly motivated.
Finally... Mike Riley is our coach, not Bo "defensive genius" Pelini

Sorry...love the turnaround, but we will have the Badgers FULL attention...

NU 17, Wisky 14. This game brings up unforgettable moments like 408 against a defensive genius.

20 to 17 Nebraska ...winning on the last play of the game. Either by a 27 yard field goal....or Tommy on a YOLO throw to Westerkamp.

I WILL say this...I, like I'm sure others, having been waiting for this game to pronounce 'legitimacy' on this team....is that fair? Maybe not, but it IS the result of a cumulative last 10 seasons of learning to not get my hopes up....:) I would love nothing more than to be wrong...

I am calling for a close game. if Nebraska scores 21 points or more they will win. Less than 17 and they lose.

Nebraska covers the -8 (-9) at some books and the over 40 1/2.

It is written "Nebraska will always score at least 27 points in 2016 because Sam Foltz."

Turnovers decide the game. Wiscy is ranked 76th in turnover margin Nebraska is 25th. Nebraska ranks 5th in interceptions Wiscy ranks 90th in interceptions given up

Nebraska 20- Wiscy13

I see there are a few people picking wisky to score 30 or more. They have done that twice this season. Against Akron(54) and MSU(30). Akron is ranked 103rd in scoring D and MSU is 80th while nebraska is 14th.

Our offense isn't going to have long, sustained drives, and may have a number of short offensive possessions. Our defense is going to get tired.

But the Wisconsin offense is going to have long sustained drives and their defense won't get tired?
Yes, I think they will have more success maintaining possession. Our defense will give up the shorter stuff and make teams work for it down the field. I absolutely think they will have the edge in time of possession. Hopefully our success in the 4th quarter is a sign of our good conditioning, and maybe we can lean on them in the 4th.

Iowa had only 3 drives over 20 yards. Wiscy scored 17

Michigan had 10 drives of 20 or less yards. Wiscy scored 7

Lsu had 4 drives over 30 yards and 8 under. Wiscy scored 16

Georgia state had more and longer sustained drives then the above teams wiscy scored 23.

Im just not seeing wiscy getting 30 plus unless Nebraska has multiple turnovers. Nothing they have done this season really shows otherwise unless you think Nebraska is worse than MSU.

I posted a comment shortly after Wisconsin's 5th game and showed that they are unable to sustain drives against all kinds of defenses. They are prone to turnovers, current QB has 6 INT in 115 attempts and only completes 55% of his passes. Their rush offense is averaging less than 175 YPG and 4 YPC.

I am not saying their offense is inept, it is just limited. They are not built to outscore opponents.

Probably having to talk myself into this prediction, but here's what I think happens:

Nebraska gets 3 big plays to set up scores. One on special teams, one long run and one long pass.
UW gets 2 big plays to set up scores. #81 or #11 get lost in coverage and Clement breaks a long run.

Offense is generally bad on both sides. Wisconsin's QBs are going to have a really tough day. Same with our oline, especially early.

I think UW gets points off a turn-over. I think Nebraska gets a long td drive in the fourth quarter.

Which ones has Tommy been in where he didnt have problems? I honestly can't think of any.

That said I am saying 17-10 the good guys.

Well I would think you would take those Wisconsin stats with a grain of salt, look at who they played in that stretch since Hornibrook took over. Not exactly a bunch of soft D's.

That said I think our D stands up with the best of them, except maybe Michigan.

No grain of salt needed.

Hornibrook didnt start until the Michigan State game, and came in sparingly against Georgia State. He threw three picks to Michigan, his second career start as a Redshirt Freshman. So plenty of Salt needed.

I love a challenge. So in games he has started, he is
53% 3 TDs 5 INT 173 YPG and the team is 2-2. The only game he didn't throw a pick was Iowa and that was because he was taken out for stretches and Houston played. Houston threw for one of the 2 TDs Wisconsin scored in that game.

The Wisconsin offense struggles to sustain drives period. The only game this year where they didn't struggle to sustain drives was Akron. 7 of their 18 offensive touchdowns came in that single game. A game in which Hornibrook didn't start.

So to conclude. 1 game 7 offensive TDs
6 games remaining games 11 offensive TDs

With Akron 2.57 offensive TDs per game
Without Akron 1.8 offensive TDs per game

I think NU comes out on top.. I like the vertical passing game with Morgan and Riley deep with west across the middle opening up the running game .. having wester camp back is huge for that reason alone. Watch ta take some shots deep with man coverage and our defense gets some stops.. I like NU 31 wis 20 look for a big play from our special teams as well since their normal special teams starters will be starting on defense with all their injuries.. big win and everyone will be talking about the skers being one of the best ready to take on the luckeyes

key to this game will be a healthy Ozigbo and Westercamp.

With Ozigbo, , Nothing is being said about his ability to play.

Newby is simply not big enough physically to pound any one. Our line is not going to push wisky around.

Westercamp changes the dynamics of our pass offense, his route running and speed cause teams to pay a lot of attention to him, which allows receivers to get open.

If they can't play , we lose big. Wisky 24-10

I think we struggle to score more than 13. Regardless of their losses on D, our OL is just not there yet. Tommy does not do well when A. running for his life, and B. thinking he has to force plays to win the game. While our D is trending in the right direction, we still seem to give up a couple of head scratching plays each game for long TDs or to set up scores. W 21 - NU 13
