Not looking to pick a fight or anything, but I browse various team boards and have seen Watts come up here because he played his high school ball in Nebraska. I happened to come across this brief interview with him that was posted with in the past day or so, and figured that I'd post it here for anyone that might have a question about why he didn't go to Nebraska. I know that there have been plenty of recruits that ND missed on where we didn't really know why they went elsewhere, so I figured that you guys might appreciate it.

I won’t lie, he was the last person I thought would go on to a productive college career. I took him as a mediocre, overrated local talent.
He switched positions and certainly blossomed, likely under quality coaching.

Now it’s time for more guys on our roster to step up and compete for all-american type seasons.

Is he okay? Last I saw he was getting cleaned up with wet wipes after the Penn st TE demolished him

Honestly good for him. He blossomed where he went. He took an opportunity and made the best of it. We are trying to sell kids outside of Nebraska and inside the State of Nebraska that they can blossom into All-Americans here. I cheer for Nebraska guys except when they play against Nebraska or do bad to or say bad things about Nebraska. Nothing Watts did here falls in either of those categories.

Cliff notes for everyone (hint the cliffs are the entire statement re: Nebraska)-
“My top 3 were Notre Dame, Nebraska and Michigan. I wanted to go to Nebraska, but you know they weren’t very good, so I couldn’t do that.”

I understand kid.
Nebraska wanted him at Safety he wanted to play WR . The teams success probably had something to do with it but the biggest reason was the position he was being recruited for IMO. . And FWIW ND started him at WR .

Yeah, sadly, NU did actually end up with all of the mediocre overrated local “talent”

ND did start him at WR and had a bunch of problems with their WR coach that ended up with him getting fired. They gave Watts a choice to stay at WR under a new coach or move to Safety, and he chose to move.

So we’re just gonna put up with this passive aggressive dick wad’s bullshit and nobody is gonna tell him go fvck himself back to wherever he came from?

Dat badazz talk.

Thanks so much! There were plenty of other players who were offered and didn’t come here as well. Look forward to you sending us all of those interviews as well. No one here realized Nebraska has been well below par the last years so this was very inlightning.
