Want to know why we don’t make plays year after year when it matters? The big catch, the big stop, the big run. Besides being mental midgets, we just haven’t had the dudes…..almost anywhere on the field. I want to be very clear here, this is not a post excusing some of the play or coaching this season, but this programs struggle can be directly connected to its lack of talent over the last 7 years. Only 11 Huskers have been drafted since 2017…IN ANY FVCKING ROUND. Incredible. Scott Frost is the worst coach in Husker history for so many reasons, but his lack of identifying talent is really what has done this program in. This years roster is better, but still not where it needs to be. Recruit, recruit, recruit, spend, spend, spend. Rhule and Co have their own coaching hills to climb, but the talent deficit is priority 1.

Mostly agree. Some assistant hires were questionable, at this point.

I appreciate how Rhule recruits and following Frost had to suck. Frost created a culture of expecting to lose. Rhule has yet to fix it.

Naw. Just call better plays and don’t waste a timeout when the defense sniffed out your fake punt. Even if we didn’t use all our timeouts. That and don’t play small db’s even if they’re the best ya got. And we need to bench the qb and go back to the guy that couldn’t score last year. He’s gonna turn it around. Until we need to throw. Or he fumbles. But if we call good plays that shouldn’t be an issue.

our classes have been top 30. Our results have been far worse. We have kids that can play and when they go somewhere else, sometimes they look way better.

We have a shit culture and have been funding losers since Pelini. This new guy is a dud, too.

Our kids aren’t tough. That’s an attitude. We had smiling Mike, a drunk and now the current bozo. A good coach could win with this roster. Who are we kidding here?

True, but the losing attitude really started when Eichorst hired smily Riley..

Been a losing mentality ever since..

I didn’t like giving Solich Osborne’s job and was critical.

Cosgrove was a disaster that did Callahan in. Everyone hated him post Solich.

Pelini needed a life coach and recruiting help. I didn’t like him and wanted him to go.

And yet, if I had a time machine, I would go back and try to salvage any of them. They had issues but were fixable.

Riley had NOTHING and to follow that with the Frost implosion…we are so lost and directionless now.

Solich to Pelini: “Win 9 games or more a year, recruit well, and don't embarrass us!!!”

Riley on: “Please just don’t have another losing season.”

Not enough is said about the talent. The facts are right in front of us, It's the base of the why we suck. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit......As we heard before " Somebody has to make a play ".

You are correct. I don't remember guys like Suh, Abdullah, Frazier, etc not making big plays at key moments. Dudes win games. Average talent guys make plays some of the time, and get beaten in key moments. The number of our guys getting drafted is indicative of our talent level.

Callahan didn't want to fire Cosgrove for some reason. I don't know if Osborne gave him a choice or if Osborne gave him that option and Calahhan said no. But not firing a bad coordinator is pretty much a given reason to fire a guy.

I think he thought he was cooked either way and was too stubborn/prideful to turn on a friend.

This is such BS, though I agree it's always good to have more talent.

There are many less talented teams that don't have the same problems, and this has been true for every year of our bowl drought.

It's not a talent issue.

To those saying development is a major issue, agreed, that has been abysmal as well. However, Frost did both poorly. Didn’t identify studs and didn’t coach up what he did bring in. Look at the impact of 1 great receiver in Palmer? Shit, we need 3-4 of those guys at the game breaking positions. Hoping Coleman can develop and Carter as well, but ay this moment, we don’t have any game breakers. Guys that make something out of nothing.

The biggest reason is program management from the top I mean the very top. These coaches are pawns. Players, coaches, athletic directors.schedules, and conferences have changed I. The last 20 years. What are the constants. This isn’t a qb issue, coordinator issue, or bad luck issue. It’s a top down issue. The powers that be have to decide if this important or it’s nice to collect the tv revenue, fans money and so on. The leadership at the university is lucky there is not a pro team or competing teams. Most people on here would take 20 cents on the dollar of what the last three coaches have done and couldn’t do worse. To me there is no difference in 1-2 wins or 4-5 wins.

No, when you look at the classes and who stayed and who didn't pan out. We have been in the low 50s.

I believe several on this board would have e had winning records...... not joking. Leadership is leadership. If you hire good people and empoyer them with tools and resources you get good results. If you build a culture that attracts those people and more, competitive but nurturing......developing....you get great results.

The Big 10 is now a murderers row. You can't get bowl eligible without talented roster anymore. Every team in the conference except Purdue and maybe Northwestern would be bowl eligible in every other conference except the SEC.

You honestly believe random message board posters could really have winning records just walking in and coaching P4 football?

Over the past 8 years, we have lost many B10 games to "less talented" teams. By every external recruiting/NIL metric, we have had better teams on paper but we consistently lose to these "less talented" teams. Why is that?

Most would have 9-10 wins if in other conferences including the Big 12.
