Neither does 1 in 1 free throws and not playing quarters. Men’s college basketball is sorry. The women’s game figured out that was stupid. They also don’t start their title game at 8:50 Eastern on a Monday night.makes no sense
What's wrong with one and one for free throws? I hate the auto two shot foul for some weak ass foul call.Neither does 1 in 1 free throws and not playing quarters. Men’s college basketball is sorry. The women’s game figured out that was stupid. They also don’t start their title game at 8:50 Eastern on a Monday night.
Yep. Saturday nights make the most sense for football & basketball, but then their bar tvs take away from in home tv viewership numbers. It's when ever the broadcasting decides that they can make the most $
Always has beenSlamming the ball is a technical....interesting
Always has been
Who watches TV on a Saturday night? Most people I know are out and about.
Same, cuz I'm old I guess. I'd rather go out on weeknights when it's less crowded.I'd much rather be watching a good game on a Saturday night than being out and about
I figured it is something like this. Of course their conclusion that more people watch Monday night is a data gathering artifact. Far more people would watch it Saturday night, either at home with friends or at the bar enjoying the game as a community. Instead their plan means less people watch overall, with less enjoyment overall, but they squeeze out a few more dollars of ad revenue because we only "count" if we are sitting at home by ourselves watching television. Imagine if one of these teams were yours? So anti-climactic to watch by yourself, turn off the tv, and go to bed afterwards instead of celebrating. The timing on a work night is another issue as I couldn't even watch the 2nd half and haven't checked to see who won yet. Oh well.Yep. Saturday nights make the most sense for football & basketball, but then their bar tvs take away from in home tv viewership numbers.
Why not both? Watch at a friends house or at a bar. It's not like we are all going to the opera or a rave on Saturday night. Whatever you are doing out and about I guarantee it would not impress a sports fan (no offense). Also, who watches TV during the week? I don't have time during the week to be watching TV. The only time I could possibly watch might be on a weekend.Who watches TV on a Saturday night? Most people I know are out and about.
My opinion is a Monday night game gains more tv’s than a Saturday night game when more watch parties would happen. Why not both? Watch at a friends house or at a bar. Not during the football season.Who watches TV on a Saturday night? Most people I know are out and about.
I agree I wish it was a Saturday as well, but Monday definitely draws more money for the city. Most people probably arrive Friday/Saturday and spend Friday/Sat/Sun/Monday night partying, eating, drinking, lodging etc. If Saturday night they'd probably lose 1.5 days worth of money coming inTraditional but dumb as hell to me. I always thought the National Championship in football should be on a Saturday. Much more eyes on the TV, no work, better attendance. More money for the city also.
Just doesn't make sense to me.
Holla
What would be the difference if ii was a Thursday/ Sat final four. People would come in on Wednesday and leave Sunday. Isn’t that the same as a Friday-MondayI agree I wish it was a Saturday as well, but Monday definitely draws more money for the city. 2 reasons.makes no sense
It starts late so it's in prime time nationwide. That makes a lot of sense.Neither does 1 in 1 free throws and not playing quarters. Men’s college basketball is sorry. The women’s game figured out that was stupid. They also don’t start their title game at 8:50 Eastern on a Monday night.
Dude, the game started at around 7:00 your time! Also, there is this thing called recording and playing later.I don’t mind Monday but agree about the time. Hell I live in the Mountain time zone and I’ll be lucky to stay awake until the end.
So play 2 games on a weeknight and one game on Saturday? How does that make sense?Talked w my neighbors on this tonight.
Final Four Thursday, championship at 530 on Sunday makes more sense.
IMO tho, idk how it works for viewership but gotta assume Sunday is king via SB Sunday
It’s 5:50 in LA and 3:50 in Hawaii that’s not prime time nationwide. It starts late so it's in prime time nationwide. That makes a lot of sense.
If you include Alaska and Hawaii, it's impossible to start a game in prime time nationwide (hey, why not Guam?).It’s 5:50 in LA and 3:50 in Hawaii that’s not prime time nationwide.
As we have seen in this debate we are having it’s a catch 22 . You are either having 2 games ( Semi) on a weeknight and I game ( NC) on a weekend. Or it’s what we have now .So play 2 games on a weeknight and one game on Saturday? How does that make sense?
The 2nd one I assume? Solid substitution.I watched Rambo.
Final 4 Friday night. Title game Sunday at 7 est. easy fix. Same prep. Whole east coast can stay up until 9 if they’re interested. Sunday afternoon for west coast. As we have seen in this debate we are having it’s a catch 22 . You are either having 2 games ( Semi) on a weeknight and I game ( NC) on a weekend. So your suggesting that the women move their tournament ?Final 4 Friday night. Title game Sunday at 7 est. easy fix. Same prep. Whole east coast can stay up until 9 if they’re interested. Sunday afternoon for west coast.
Huh?So play 2 games on a weeknight and one game on Saturday? How does that make sense?
