Where has this offense been?

Buried by Matt Rhule’s best friend and preferred OC

Thank God for Troy Dannen forcing his hand or Rhule would’ve had a play sheet in his hands again today!
You don't know that is what happened. But however it happened thank God it did. Because Satterfield was the reason this team faltered this year. Period. Thank God he got canned.

Hypothetical....
Say the Huskers beat Iowa and a bowl opponent and finish 8-5.

What you think NU's record "could" have been had DH came to the rescue after the Indiana blowout?

Losses to OSU, UCLA, and USC? I highly doubt it, probably win 2 of those 3 and could have finished this year 10-3?

Has little to do with the Head Coach and 9 other coaches, and everything to do with Dana.

I guess this is what a quality OC looks like. I didn't think Holgy could get things going in the right direction so fast.
I am not surprised. I've seen his teams get defenses off-balance and just keep them off-balance.

The transition in terminology wasn't gonna be as difficult as people thought. In football, there are base plays that every team uses. The difference is building other plays that compliment them.

I think Boerkircher made a bunch of catches today, almost some like the flare passes we kept trying with Fidone, the difference was Boerk was always on the move and headed up field near the LOS. It wasn't that lateral shit that never went anywhere.

He turned Boerk into a weapon today. He made Jacori a bigger weapon. They threw balls to Banks that were mostly in his wheelhouse. He took all that EJ did last week and just built on it. Dana will continue to do that with guys who are gonna get the ball. Dana knows his stuff.

I've been high on Boerkircher and he should have been getting playing time a lot earlier in the year. I wouldn't be sad if Fidone doesn't play another down here and transfers out. We need to turn the page at that position.

You’re so full of sh$$ on that. Just drop. Dana is good friends with Rhule too and you know damned well Rhule tried to hire him last December. If you won’t admit that then you’re calling Dana a liar.

Not sure why you keep saying Troy forced that. I haven’t heard that - and I hear a lot.

Rhule wanted DH before. He was finally ready to bench Satt. That’s the reason this happened.

Dana was in Lincoln several months before Trev left. Dana spelled it out on a radio interview last week. The chimp is just making crap up now.

Where has this offense been all season long?
Bad OC and nontruthful coaches. Holgorsen comes in and says RBs you gotta hit the hole harder and WRs you're embarrassing. Amazing how much better o line looks with RBs hitting the hole better . Lack of 5 swing passes in a row doesn't hurt either .

Rhule looked lost on the sideline today. Holgorsen totally has it under control

If Rhule goes off to the races this move will go down in husker history.

It's possible the AD said something needed to happen to the OC. But Rhule and Dana are friends.

Holgerson wasn’t ready to commit to a coaching gig when Rhule made the first run at him. He said as much himself.
I think if Rhule wants him. I bet DH will stick around the next 2 years and leave when Raiola leaves. My prediction at least.

So much this!!

Not sure why people are up in arms about good management!

Holgerson won games at WVU but left for Houston, then Houston left him. He potentially has a wheelhouse as a coordinator in one of the two big conferences. It’s where he has the potential to be most successful at least that’s my opinion. Rhule’s talent is in the overall and also knowing that getting a guy like DH to Lincoln gets NU to a bowl.

True. So do you think DH stays for multiple years or leaves after next year for a HC job?

I keep seeing this from you. But do you actually have facts to back this up? Or just assuming like you typically do?
I have it from a 10-figure booster who lunches with the AD monthly. maybe that person is lying.

but Dannen is a winner. has won big everywhere he's been.

and very hands-on.

you do the math.

Rhule said he wanted DH to come in like Saban used to hire guys

Analyst, observer, etc

Not as OC/play caller. Rhule already had his man at that spot.
I think the fact that Rhule had identified that DH would be a great asset to his staff and tried to bring him in is good coaching. The ability to bring somebody in as an analyst who is an immediate go to OC if what happened this year happens, and the signs were there last year. To pull that card and have that option available during season is the what he should get credit for. That is what Saban did.

"It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em."
