Same could be said for every company, school, team, etc... all you can do is have good leadership who provides open discussion and cares about student well-being. If you're suggesting the Missouri incident came with no cause, you are mistaken. As you have seen from Perlman's statement, he is taking this issue seriously and is open to dialogue. That is the key difference from the Missouri situation.
I can tell you it should be an incredible game! I would feel a lot better about it if it was in Wichita! I would imagine that it will be a PACKED house, and emotions will run high. Historically, not tons of love lost.Hey Spartan - I am going OT on you. What can you tell me about Collegiate FB? The head coach at Halstead is a friend. I gave him his first head coaching job and coached with him.
There is evidence to suggest that the students were egged on by staff, to force the Presidents resignation. They weren't too keen on an outsider and non-alum being appointed for the job.You missed the article(s) detailing all the meetings that were held with the president who was eventually forced to resign. Like lots of meetings, with everyone.
Are you talking about TIm Wolfe? He was raised in Columbia, his dad taught at Mizzou and he went there himself. Maybe I'm missing something in your commentThere is evidence to suggest that the students were egged on by staff, to force the Presidents resignation. I DO have two funny Halstead stories....actually three.
*When my youngest was a senior, he was our qb...we opened at Halstead and that year they were terrible. EXactly 35 seconds into the game, a fan from their side yelled out " Call holding! THEY'VE BEEN DOING IT ALL GAME!!!"
* A year later, they had a kid on their team who had been having run-ins with the coach...(we were not the opponent)....anyway, the kid intercepted a pass, ran it back to the house, and then LITERALLY kept on running to HIS house...he quit on the spot.
* in 1996, we were #1 in the state and ranked #1...they were 6-2, but very good...only one team went to state in those days. They beat the tar out of us 68-7...that is correct...68-7.
There was celebrating a plenty that night in Halstead.
BUT their best was yet to come...when we returned in the winter to play basketball(we crushed them, btw), their entire student body sat with coats on through the entire girls game. But when the boys game began, they shed their coats to reveal tee shirts that said, on the front(if I remember this correctly)...US 68 ...and on the back...YOU 7. I laughed pretty hard at their cleverness!

Stef, I support you getting shot.
I'm looking you in the eyes, you'll notice a flash, you won't hear the bang.
He asked if anyone would shoot him, I watched his video and would fullfill his request.
I don't hate or even dislike the man, just carrying out his question.

I'd just like to see the end of heightism in Memorial stadium. I'm demanding the creation of a Big and Tall section in the stadium. I can't help my height and am offended and hurt (maybe even traumatized) by the lack of leg room in north/south stadium. "Hey-hey...ho-ho...knees in backs has got to go (repeat)!".......you KNOW someone is thinking about it....
