He had 3 100 yard games in a row and then doesn't show up until the 3rd series against OSU. (I am well aware it would not have mattered.) That seems a bit weird. Will he be our primary back going forward?

That's why he didn't show up until the 3rd series? We had the ball first.they were playing so far behind....

My only guess is that Wilbon practices better than Ozigbo. But at some point you have to wonder how Ozigbo's in-game production can be ignored. Unless you are trying to make a point about practice discipline.Only Riley and Langs seem to hold the answer and it's certainly puzzling.
I have very few issues with this staff's roster management. My biggest issue isn't with the RB rotation. To me, the most baffling roster choice was starting Conrad over Decker at centerTerrible management, of course. Also good to have seen the first string play against OSU's third string when, you know, we could have played more younger players then. Par for the course

Talent is too often wasted, under-utilized, and under-developed.
Ozigbo has real talent but has no O line.
Just the fact that he can get mugged at the LOS and still get yards (YAMC - Yards After Multiple Contacts) should distinguish him from all of our other RBs. I include Tre Bryant in that group as well, even when he was healthy. Or healthier in his case.
#1. Devine
#2. Tre
#3. Wilbon
If he stops face punting Passes In fairness when given the carries Wilbon had 100 yards also ,both are capable neither is of Jordan Taylor or Royce Freeman caliber. Neither one is a big play back so this is why it's tough to say Ozigbo in the WCO is a better fit.He had 3 100 yard games in a row and then doesn't show up until the 3rd series against OSU. I only have issues with the Conrad over Decker thing. And that is on Cavanaugh who is, in my view, a liability. And that is on Riley. But Ozigbo is overrated by our fan base in my opinion. I think he is better than Wilbon but not by much. His rushing success rate is only about one percent higher than Wilbon. And I layed out a reason above as to why Wilbon starts that is probably the case. So let's not inflate the narrative on Ozigbo just because he feels all old school NU or something. I have seen Ozigbo get stoned in the backfield or miss a hole too many times to bitch about why he isn't playing. As for Williams at safety... who knows? We don't have any real jawbreakingsafetyplay guys at that position. It is very puzzling to everyone except the coaching staff. Everyone.
Also, penny...at what point do you start questioning this staffs roster management?
1. Decker.
2. Ozigbo.
3. K. Williams safety
Even if you only agree with 1 and 2, do you need a third before you question their roster management?
Do you really think it would have mattered? Do you really think our running game would have "clicked" had Ozigbo been in instead? That we would have been able to move the football if we had just played the mighty Ozigbo? Why didn’t he start for the first two series? They were obviously critical.
Lol. The defense is "fixed". All gas no brakes!!!Do you really think it would have mattered? Do you really think our running game would have "clicked" had Ozigbo been in instead? That we would have been able to move the football if we had just played the mighty Ozigbo?
Good grief. Ozigbo is a "B-" running back at best. This is exactly what I mean when I say our fan base exaggerates Ozigbo's talent.
If you want to bitch about something I would start instead with why our recruiting at this position is so lacking. And that goes back to Davis. In my view, if Riley ends up losing his job it will be because he brought the wrong staff with him. He fixed that on defense. But he has stuck with these offensive coaches and it is going to cost him.

Look, barring a strong end to the season, I think Riley should be let go. But let's not start looking for flaws in this staff under every rock.
I think I agree. Win or lose, time to move on from RileyGreat post.....except for the strong end to the season part at this point. That ship sailed over the last two weeks. Time to move on.
The jawbreakingsafetyplay moves this post from a B- to a B+.....
Ha. Indeed! I should have said he "tried" to fix the defense.Lol. The defense is "fixed". All gas no brakes!!!
Asking a question is bitching? Thank goodness you’re not an evaluator of talent.Do you really think it would have mattered? Do you really think our running game would have "clicked" had Ozigbo been in instead? That we would have been able to move the football if we had just played the mighty Ozigbo?

Ha. Yeah. Sorry. Should not have claimed you were bitching. Just saying that from my perspective the deeper complaint is about our lack of good recruiting at that spot.Asking a question is bitching? Thank goodness you’re not an evaluator of talent.
I remember last year that people wanted to see less Newby and more Wilbon. People thought Wilbon had more acceleration and shake and bake. Now, a year later, we don't want Wilbon after all and are clamoring for more power and less shake and bake.Too many variable go into who starts that we, as fans, don’t get to see. I am not necessarily defending to decisions but sometimes those decisions aren’t based on talent. Every fan base in America complains about who is starting at a particular position or 2.
I'd have to go with Bryant as the #1. That kid has fantastic vision.

I don't think ozigbo is great per se, and I agree our line limits everyone, but it's obvious to me ozigbo is the best we have. For him to be buried is hard to explain.I only have issues with the Conrad over Decker thing. And that is on Cavanaugh who is, in my view, a liability. And that is on Riley.
