What's wrong with this kid? He and his mom said his heart is with Nebraska and now he wants to decommit again to a school that gets no tv exposure. Could it be, he's reading the message boards, twitter feed, and other sites from fans that's getting into this kids head.

Maybe he is reading threads that start out with "what is wrong with this kid?". He is 17 that is what the deal is. Easily swayed by adults who use social media to bash him or question his intelligence or decisions.

I've heard that said that all kids need should stay away from the social media when making decisions. I think that's sound advice. That said, the back and forth banter of the fan base is something that is not unique to Nebraska.

If Nebraska is the best place for him and is in his heart, then a random anonymous post on the interwebs should not factor in for where he wants to go to college. I hope he goes to NU, but if he doesn't I hope he does well with his choice because NU is going to be fine either way.

Social media was targeted towards the younger generation to begin with. Facebook started out for college kids only then branched out. Twitter followed shortly after. I would say its the adults that need to lay off the social media.

Agree...I enjoy twitter for the follows but I have had it since 2009 and have never created my own tweet ...Facebook I deactivate when I am teaching(aug-may) just so the kids stay away...I did reactivate for the World Series to talk to fellow Cubs fans but since the Trumpacalypse I have gone dark again...its generally a pissing match not worth taking part in

If most recruiting writers have him flipping to WSU, then he'll choose a WSU 35,000 vs NU 90,000 stadium capacity and not much national televised games in Wazzu

Sometimes kids make decisions not based on TV coverage or picking which school has the most national titles.

There are a lot of moving parts in place when making a decision. Maybe he loves coach Williams but the lure of staying on the west coast is more important to him?

Good luck either way. As long as coach Williams is here, we will never be short of getting great wide receivers who will want to play for him. Nebraska is in a great spot. Let's hope a 17 year old kid figures out where is best for him.

If Nebraska is the place he wants to be, I hope he comes here. I don't think it is a done deal yet and I doubt Coach Dub has given up on him yet. He's invested plenty into building that relationship with JC than to just say screw it and let him go elsewhere. Like other posters have said, there are lots of things than make a recruit choose one school or another.

This would make sense except that no Husker fan was talking garbage to Calvin once he committed to Nebraska.

In any event I believe Calvin would be very high maintenance.
I've been saying it for 2 days. Whoever he signs with, he will transfer in less than 2 years. Way too many hands in the cookie jar on this one.

Even if he signs here tomorrow he will pull a Grimm within a few months.
exactly. too much drama. not sure if it's family or just insecurities. if he commits to NU, then stick with it. If not, enjoy Washington State. BTW, where the hell is Washington State located? can't recall the last time I caught one of their games on TV.

Pullman, Washington in the middle of nowhere. He was told if you come to WSU you can catch over 100 passes a season.

Pullman. Live on the West Coast and have insomnia if you want to see their games because that is probably the only way that you have Pac-12 Network. I did find it interesting that Calvin's retweet from Wazzou shows the team running out of the tunnel with empty seats behind them.

The staff should have cut him lose long ago and focused on more stable targets. Some have reported we needed 5 WRs and would take up to 6. We have 3 at present. Sometimes a solid 3* is better than a flake 4* that is going to hang you out to dry. KW got played last year on signing day as well.

Pullman, WA, 32,000 Population. Sounds like an exciting town with tons of things to do for a kid from LA for 4 years.

If I was a recruit, I would want to play for a coach like Coach Williams. He seems to make them really learn and develop their craft for wideouts. (At least from what Coach Williams puts out there) Rather than just go to a school to put up video game stats, but I may be a bit biased on which school to favor.

honestly, it sounds more like someone who doesn't want to compete against other just as talented and fast WR's.

catching 100 passes a season is great, but how great can it be if no one sees you do it?

While I understand the assertion, let me play Devil's Advocate if I am Mike Leach. I pull out tape of what I did with an undersized Wes Welker and what I did with a slight of frame Danny Amendola in the middle of proverbial nowhere Lubbock and note how much money I will get you to make even if no one sees you do it.
