Just read past the bolded words (and obviously the question mark) below in Kaz's response. Pretty sure that's his answer to the question.

Why is it so hard to believe that Boyd is just trying to line everything up from when he was gone with his own performance index formula?

Like I said, answering a question with a question. I would hope I wouldn't need to remind anyone that's not how things work.

Come on, Hoosker, you're better than that... You know exactly what he meant, and so does everybody else.

I asked a question for a reason. I wanted to know how they were going to convert the performances.

What this sounds very much like to me is that Boyd Eppley, (who initially praised Dobson's approach)...has changed his mind on Dobson. It sounds like a guy that has a bit of an ego problem, and wants the keys back to car he built, even though he sold the car 10 years ago.

Why even turn the screen off in the first place? Why not just work with the football strength coach to implement the testing standards, and then change the screen when they determine a way to get everything on the same page? I'm guessing there would have been very little backlash. Whomever turned the screen off (I'm guessing it was Eppley) seemed like he didn't agree with what was on the screen, because it didn't adhere to his standards of testing.

My point is he answered your question... Boyd was trying to line everything up with his own formula. That way when comparing performers they are all measures according to the same guidelines.

Is Boyd not working with Philipps on this?

Listened to segment one of Sharp & Benning from today. Sounds like a good case of two wrongs not making a right. I do get a little of that vibe of Eppley throwing the baby out with the bathwater. There's some feel of him being a "my way or the highway" kind of guy, but if you're there to be the person who answers for all the S&C at the school...how can you not be?

At some point, things are not a negotiation. It's not that serious about who had what record and where you display it, but it is that serious if everyone isn't in agreement about how players are going to be trained.

Again you missed the most important content of the post. He should have worked with him behind the scenes to get the numbers on the same page. Then changed them without having to turn the screen off at all. That's why turning it off for some time indicates to me that he was very strongly considering getting rid of those records that were being displayed, because he strongly disagreed with the tests that gave the results on the screen in the first place.

Thanks for clarifying what you meant.

Why would "lining everything up with his own formula" require turning the screen off? Wouldn't it be easy to do all of this work converting records to his system without needing to turn the screen off? This whole thing reeks of Epply ego to me.

Its not hard, we all know the differences between hand held 40s and electronic 40 times. I think they need lists, one hand held and one electronic.

The problem with the video has something to do with the old staff being the ones to program it and the new staff doesn't have access to the program so they are working with the company that wrote the software to rewrite it and put them back up.

Oh, very good news actually.

I also heard that the big issue that the new staff had with the old numbers was hand held times used by the old staff vs electronic timing used by the current staff. Hand held times in something like a 40 can be anywhere from .20 seconds faster than an electronic time. This whole situation made it much farther than it really should have. It should have been a non issue IMO.

Jesus Christ. Seriously? Four pages about lifting records being .... I don't even know, replaced for a day? The people who choose to care about this, outside of the players directly affected are SEARCHING for something to complain about.

This is spot-on. The freakout shown was like being in junior high all over again.

I see ESPN has now picked up on this huge non-issue and of course mentions Kenny Bell at the heart of it. Hard to believe the guy can still cause controversy in the football program.

Actually it's not that hard to believe. We have quite a few mental midgets in our fanbase that actually believe what "look at me" #80 says.

As long as he runs his mouth we will have controversy. The guy never shuts up.

Here are some other tweets he's sent out just within the past month. To act like he has some kind of anti-NU agenda just isn't true. People get too carried away.
