The last time the two teams met, they were headed to 4-8 records. NU beat Rutgers in Piscataway three weeks after firing Frost and two weeks after firing DC Chinander. The interim DC Bill Busch admitted that in the game prior to playing Rutgers the goal was to consistently be lined up correctly for the call. That was the team Rutgers lost to at home. Rutgers was featuring a QB that was on the Nebraska roster previously and couldn’t start. Suffice to say that both teams have improved. Schiano and Rhule are coaching upgrades. This will be NU limiting RUs run game vs. Rutgers making Raiola sweat. Rutgers defense looks a little leaky statwise. And can their QB keep his shit together in a stadium that may well be the loudest he’s ever played in.

You should actually be giving the slope for the line of best fit but I will give you partial credit since it’s a sports board.
It would be much better to develop a system of differential equations to model the outcomes through the years to better account for the multiple variables affecting the score differential. Of course one factor that would have to be accounted for is the Matt Rhule factor and that wouldn’t show up at all in your simple linear model. Feel free to use MATLAB to assist you with your assignment.
Things have changed. The QB on Rutgers roster has beaten Nebraska twice, including once when he subbed in for the starter, while playing for Minnesota in Nebraska in ‘22. Rutgers has a Heisman Trophy Candidate at RB. We also have 3 Fleet Footed Receivers, who are capable of going for 100 yards receiving each. We have a defense that bends and gives up a lot of yards, but hasn’t given up a lot of points. Rutgers will try to keep Raiola off balance with various types of pressure and looks. Nebraska has never played a Rutgers team this good. We are much better than last year, when we beat Miami in the bowl game. Looking forward to the game.
Good lord. You just love this Greek kid narrative. Kind of comical. You just gave up over 500 yards of offense and really lucked out to win that game. Might want to just STFU for a little bit. You guys aren't Ohio St and no one gives a shit if this is the best Rutgers team as Rutgers is a perennial doormat.
It'll probably be a close game because Nebraska plays down to competition, but nothing about your team is scary.
Things have changed for sure. Your Heisman trophy RB is +15000 and tied for 29th in odds. Impressively he’s tied with our very own Dylan Raiola - who no one on our site is saying is a Heisman candidate at this stage in the game because if you give long enough odds to any player in college they would make the list.
For the record, Kaliakmanis wasn’t the QB that beat Nebraska in the opener last year. That was Jeff Sims.

Rutgers Is exponentially better than when we played last time.
Our QB starter played hurt. Our reserve came in and threw an interception which Nebraska scored a TD off of, which proved to be the game winner. This years Rutgers QB threw for 196 yards last year when he led Minnesota to victory over Nebraska. He also won in Nebraska two years ago, when he replaced the Minnesota starter at halftime. Our running back led the Big Ten in rushing last year.
Our defense bends but it doesn’t break, allowing few points this year. Like most defenses, we’ve got room for improvement, and hope to show it this weekend. Our defense is especially tough in the red zone, and Nebraska’s struggles in the kicking game might come back to haunt you. Our kicker was great last year but has struggled some this year. Nevertheless his kicks have provided for the margin of victory against Nebraska and Virginia Tech.
Monangai does what he needs to do in the next four weeks against Nebraska, Wisconsin, UCLA, and USC, the odds won’t matter.
We gave up 500 yards of offense to very good players. Jonah Coleman is an NFL lock. Will Rogers is good enough to get an opportunity.
Saturday, we’ll show you why Rutgers is no longer a doormat. We are trying to be Top Dog.

He will get 150 rushing yards Saturday, and unless y’all sell out to stop him, in which case our quarterback will throw for 300 yards. Last year he ran for 159 yards vs Ohio State.

Weber State's RB ran for more ypc than he did against Washington. I think he is a good player, but Washington has a first year coach and they seem to be as up and down as anyone right now.
Rutgers can win, but don't go to someone elses board and be shocked when they think they are better.
28-20 Nebraska wins an actual 1 possession game for once. 21-20 going into 4th.
He also only hit 50 yards on the road once last season(3 times for his career), against what was a bad Indiana team. In 4 of his 5 road games last season he had less than 40 yards rushing, and 3 or under ypc in those 4 games.
He only hit 86 yards on the ground on 26 carries against Virginia Tech. Rutgers is the only team to play VT to average less than 3.8 ypc rushing(2.9).
You did average the best ypc against Washington & Akron this year, but those were also home games.
Listened to Bill Busch on the way in to work today. He was on the staff that beat Rutgers a couple years ago. a couple quick hits:
Said it was a VERY physical game. Anthony Grant knocked a defender cold on the sideline with a hit. Said it was 5 minutes before the game could resume. Rutgers crushed Casey Thompson that night. So, they expect DR to be roughed up a bit. Or at least they will try.
Also said, Rutgers team 2 years ago was much MUCH better on defense than they are now. Said they are very basic, and that he does not think the D coordinator trusts their secondary. Expect DR to pick it apart.
Also says their QB situation was much better 2 years ago because their guy could run. They have literally no QB run game now, and it will allow us to key their backs. the QB is not going to run, and if he does, its a good thing for us.
Also says they lack the receivers ILL did, and their QB is a big big step down from what we saw vs ILL. He thinks NU should win, and win without much issue. Especially if we get ahead. They are not built for coming back. He did acknowledge Rutgers has a good running game in regards to their backs. Just not much passing, and no threat of QB run.

Good catch. However, those four road games LY were Michigan, Penn State, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Not easy games by any stretch.
True, but Nebraska ranked higher than all of those last year besides Michigan and Penn State in rushing defense, with 7 starters returning including most of the front 7.
To add to that, You have played an FCS school, #121, #103, & #51 ranked rush defenses so far this season. Nebraska ranks 15th.
Same can be said for Raiola, except Dylan would have better odds. Because he’s a QB. And because he plays for Nebraska instead of Rutgers.
Rutgers best finish in the Heisman is what, 6th? So it's understandable you don't know how the process works. A Rutgers player isn't winning this year, no matter his stats or performance. That's just how it is. Ask Suh.
Nebraska under Tony White has only had one RB to hit over 100 yards in 17 games, none have been over 111 yards.
