Good thing this game isn't on Thursday as weather conditions look miserable that afternoon. Based on current hourly data from the NWS it looks dry and cold with highs in the mid 30s on Friday. Winds are supposed to be from the NE around 10 mph by kickoff.

Main reason I decided to not make the trip, couldn't get stuck on the road. Safe travels, bummed to miss this one.

Thanks. It's my first ever Husker home game (got to see them a lot down here when they were in the Big 12) and it's been planned for a while so nothing could make me miss it. I'm fine if it's icy/snowy/nasty as soon as I pull into the hotel, but would rather it not be too bad on the drive in. Rain/Snow I can deal with. The ice is what worries me but it is what it is. Will just be really careful if it gets to that point. The last thing I want to happen is to end up in a ditch on the side of the highway.

Think just rain on Thursday, nothing dangerous. But would be shitty to sit in cold rain in the stadium.
I went to the 96 NU-CU game where we won 17-12. Sat in the cold rain. You're absolutely right about how it felt.

With the weather at or near freezing you would expect turnover control to be a big factor. Hope there isn't too much wind.

The weather is just arriving here in the mountains of the west. Be prepared, it is coming your way. The Hawks love this kind of weather. Go Hawks!!!

Welp, this is certainly going to be an interesting adventure coming up from Austin. Eek

Check-in at the hotel isn't until mid-afternoon but we're leaving WAY early to try and get there just before the ice starts. I'd rather wait for the hotel room than spend that time driving on ice.

Yeah we had to change or plans.. Not going to make it now because of that crap. Not going to risk it with a preggo wife.

We cancelled everything. No tailgate or hotel rooms. Supposed to start drizzling tonight and freeze then turn to freezing rain tomorrow. IMO not worth the trip.

I was at the '78 Oklahoma game high up in the north stadium when we stopped billy sims at the end to preserve a win. Miserable cold windy day, and the memory of a lifetime. There was not on open inch in any bar in Lincoln that night.

That was my first game ever in Lincoln, remember it like it was yesterday.

The stadium will be full just cold and windy good old fashioned B1G Ten football. All those lineman will be in shirtsleeves, you get warmed up real fast .

Were you at the Missouri game the next week? A slate-grey depressing day all around.
