Well, it's go time here in Alaska; the boat is loaded with gear and we head back over to the lodge after a nice 2-day break from going strong since June 10. I'll come here to post photos of BugeaterInWa's trip up here to my lodge - in fact, the next three weeks are with posters, so should be a great time. The thanks I need to give for the trust these guys have shown me is endless - now I just need to repay with some seafood! The king fishing has been fantastic this year, and I got my sister's group on a nice 80 pound halibut a couple weeks ago.
One thing I do know is that his group got the weather: Thursday - Saturday is supposed to be winds 5 knots or less, and sees less than 1 foot....which means flat calm to me. Throw in mid-70 degree weather and nothing but sun and you have yourself a perfect halibut fishing day. AND....the Northern Lights are supposed to be world-class the entire time he's here.
We head over today in an hour - I'll take a picture and will show you what I mean by flat calm - it looks like a lake.
