true.. it took the AD to twist his arm into action mid season. I do not for a minute believe Rhule would have made that move on his own.
I would like to see us get to 9 wins as well, which means a win over Michigan or Penn State to do that, but I don't believe we have the right QB for that.
He's very talented, yes.. but is he competitive?.. does he hate losing above all else? I don't think so. Kid does not have the fragile mind of AM, but does he make the players around him better? I haven't seen that. Maybe he improves that side of things with his leadership, but I still don't see a kid who hates losing more than anything.. and that is the kind of QB that I believe we should be building a team around. I still think Haarberg would have been just as successful had he played last year. He has immensely better leadership and grit.
When it comes to Rhule, he plays politics and he would be crucified by all the fans and morons who only see the pretty arm strength if he didn't start him last year. These kinds of decisions tell me Rhule is not exactly principled in everything he does.. he navigates the political minefields like any other normal person, and while he's a great communicator, he doesn't inspire true confidence from me because I see through all the great speeches.
We are going to know a lot after how this next season transpires.
I still believe we will have some success, and Rhule is going to exit at the end of the year.
