We got our 4-star RB!! Dante Dowdell is N!!

I looked at buying a ranchette north of Buena Vista about 10-15 years ago. It was expensive then. They had some new townhouses and condos in Buena Vista back 15 years ago and I imagine that place has exploded in growth. ☹️. People can really screw up a beautiful little town.
Great nine-hole track in BV for sure, as well as the new Eddyline Brewery "down by the river."

Had we any money in 1990, we would have bought a place in Salida and we'd be rich today. We rode a smaller inflation train in Denver/Fort Collins/Boulder, so I can't complain too much.

Jayden Limar was the other four-star top 20 back from 2023.

Limar played in 7 regular-season games and carried the ball 24 times for 109 yards, 4.7 ypc. He caught 7 passes for 64 yards, or 9.1 ypc.
Dante Dowdell played in 6 regular-season games and carried the ball 17 times for 90 yards, 5.3 ypc. Dowdell caught 0 passes.

That's more for Limar. "Much more"? That's hyperbole.
He’s a troll AND a lying sack of bat guana.

Limar is going to play more in that offense because he’s probably better as a receiving option and the Ducks use their RBs quite a bit in the passing game . Rhule wants a good downhill guy on the roster and only Ervin fit that bill before the weekend.

Apparently.

What I'm learning through simple internet scrolling is that Oregon was and is absolutely loaded with good to very good to great running backs.

Last year, we had one guy who was OK, though Johnson showed some promise. Were I Dowdell, I'd have made a similar move.
Oregon has been recruiting backs to their style of play for years and have as good a stable for what they like to do as NU had during the Pelini years.

True, but I've got to say that Little Emmitt Johnson was impressive toward the end of last season. He's above average at vision, reading blocks, and just angling through holes without defenders being able to get a hand on him. We didn't see a lot of it, but I think he could be pretty special catching passes out of the backfield. He's got a burst too. But that said, hit him square and he's going backward. Get a hand on him and he's going down. So we needed someone else. Ramir and Ervin so far have been an injury waiting to happen.

The RB rotation I'm hoping for is Dowdell and Little Emmitt with Ives running third team. Ramir and Ervin, if they are still here in the fall, would be stashed in reserve.

I think Rhule likes Rahmir as a third down guy. He trusts his pass blocking and pass catching ability. EJ is in the rotation. Gabe will be competing with Dowdell as the primary big back.

Do you see a role for Ives this year or in the future? EJ and DD have three years of eligibility left. Ervin may also if he's granted a medical redshirt.

idk. I would think he would have gotten more opportunities this year when Grant was in the doghouse and NU was rolling with EJ and Fleeks.
