Washington AD Troy Dannen is new AD

Ummm he wasn’t AD when they appeared in that game. I’m skeptical of this hire. This could have waited a few months.
he was hired by Washington back in August, so he was.

regardless, i'm not commenting on the specifics of what he did. i'm commenting on the fact that Nebraska looked into the bowl of a championship team and said "yknow what, we're taking that because we can."

that's exactly the attitude we need moving forward.

Here’s football coach Matt Rhule on Troy Dannen: “I think Troy fits all the criteria that I think we’re all looking for. He’s an accomplished athletic director… He knows the issues facing college football. He’s an unbelievable guy. It’s no slight to the University of Washington, which is an unbelievable place — my sister’s alma mater — but I just know that he wanted to come home. He wanted to be here. I’m fired up. I’m excited to have him. I think the University of Nebraska took a step forward today.”

He was actually hired in October. The job came open in August when the AD went to USC .

I’ve never understood the benning hate on here. Dude is an awesome listen on the radio. He can’t always share everything but he gives enough for people with functioning brains to figure it out. Maybe people expect him to just blab and give up sources? Or is it something else?
Probably needed to know him from his HS coaching days.

@PeliniTheCrutch He may agree or disagree, not sure, but DB is annoying.

It shouldn't be. He's an actual proven AD, exactly what is needed. Knows football, great fundraiser. Someone like Glissman, as impressive as he is, does not possess the background and qualifications for the job.
I'm not saying its a good or bad selection because I just don't much about him. I'm just saying his name wasn't in the speculation of candidates I read.

So Seattle and Minneapolis are places you definitely will get killed by a unhoused junkie. Good to know

So he’s got good established coaches in football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and women’s basketball. He’s unlikely to need to do any hiring for a long time. I guess he can help fine-tune the department and move it forward with facilities and the coming revenue sharing programs.

Yes. Heading over to the west side on Friday and plan on taking the ferry into Seattle. Love that place!!
Might even head over to UDub to see the cherry blossoms.

Guess I won't offer to meet your for coffee then.

We lived and I worked in downtown Seattle for years. Have attended Sounders games for years. Have family over in Kitsap County. I think I'll chance it.
