Yes but how do you KNOW?Lee will be more than adequate.
Asking for NebraskaFan, not myself... I feel better about QB than I have in years.

I hope you are right and by all accounts he could be a welcome change ( at least for our passing game) however I remember Sam keller coming in here with better stats and similar hype - we really do not know what we have in this guy until we see him in actual games against good competitionJust come off it... we saw Tanner in the spring game, and granted, it was just a practice. But too many people have been praising Tanner for me to act as if we cant believe he will be good unless we see it.
I will trust Riley, Langsdorf, Archie Manning, scores of media who have seen him over silly little NebraskaFan who "doesn't know" Tanner.
You are right, and this is a fair comparison... For some reason, this feels different to me. Maybe it's because I want it to be different. I just feel like we've heard so much more about Lee than we did Keller, in terms of mechanics, leadership and discipline that lead me to believe we have a better chance of success with Lee than we did with Keller... I guess we will find out this fall.
We return 5of our top 6 on the Oline and lose the weakest of the 6. We replace our QB with an experienced guy who is well regarded by coaches, present and former players plus others in the biz. We return 3 of four RBs. We traded Banker for Diaco. We have a talented and experienced D backfield.
There is no call for being pre-emptively bummed out about the season.
I'm not sure Sam Keller is a good comparison. For some reason, people remember him as not doing very well. But if you look at the stats, they are actually pretty good(over 9 games since he was injured and out for the rest of the season). He completed 63.1% of his passes, which last year would have been good enough for 26th in the country, and 1st in the B1G. His passing yards per game was 269.1, which would have ranked 24th in the country and 1st in the B1G last year. His TD/INT ratio wasn't great at 14 TDs to 10 INTs, but the INTs had a lot to do with the fact we were pressing and playing from behind so often. The defense was what let the team down-with a halfway decent defense, people might not remember him as badly as they do.You are right, and this is a fair comparison... All good points but he has yet to take a snap in a live game at NU. The point is that we really do not know how he will perform good or bad - I suspect the passing game is better overall but if the line cannot provide adequate protection, which has been an issue for the last couple of years, his mobility will come into play and we no longer have TA back there - we really need a strong run game imo to take heat off of him especially in the first half of the yearI'm not sure Sam Keller is a good comparison. You touch on a big difference too in terms of hype. With Keller, it was his stats that got the hype. But there was a strong feeling at the time that he was handed the starting job and really didn't earn it, and that some players felt like Joe Ganz had really earned the starting job. None of that is the case with Tanner Lee. His leadership and his popularity among his teammates get more hype than his stats. Nobody seriously questions whether he's earned the starting job, and there's no hint that any players feel that Patrick O'Brien or anybody else should really be the starter.
Would me sayin I just put $200 on the over, really convince you I did?
I could just as easily bet you a $100 that Nebraska wins more than 6, then use YOUR money to bet on the Penn St and Iowa games.
